Amina Husain
Dr. Amina Husain attained her medical degree at Northeast Ohio Medical University in a six-year accelerated B.S./M.D. program in conjunction with Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, which included an outpatient internal medicine externship at American University in Cairo, Egypt, and a cornea externship at Sir-Run-Run-Shaw Hospital in Hangzhou, China. Following her degree, she continued her education with a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. She then went on to North Carolina to complete fellowships in Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Laser and Endoscopic Facial Aesthetic Surgery, and Refractive Surgery at Duke University Medical Center.
Dr. Husain has written and published several papers in the field of oculoplastics in many publications, including EyeNet for the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the International Journal of Dermatology. Among her specialties in cosmetic surgery, oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery, cataract surgery, and refractive surgery, she specializes in eyelash transplantation, a permanent solution to the appearance of sparse lashes. Dr. Husain started working on eyelash transplantation in her fellowship and has been cultivating the best method to perform this procedure ever since.
