Dr. Tin Tran has a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles and received his Doctor of Optometry degree from UC Berkeley.
Dr. Tran’s clinical experience is broad and varied, encompassing internships and externships that have honed his skills in multiple optometry specialties. He has provided exceptional care in settings ranging from the Meredith W. Morgan University Eye Center in Berkeley to the Palo Alto VA Medical Center, and the Vandenberg Air Force Base, offering services in binocular vision, digital telemedicine, low vision, myopia control, ocular disease, pediatrics, and primary care. His externships specifically focused on delivering primary care to enlisted airmen, veterans, and their families, as well as geriatric veterans, showcasing his versatility and dedication to serving diverse patient populations.
In his professional career, Dr. Tran has worked as an associate optometrist in several respected practices in California, including Blackstone Optometry, Catherine Kim Optometry, Somi Kim Optometry, and Beverly Plaza Optometric, where he continues to serve. His expertise spans pediatric to geriatric care, specializing in refraction, soft contact lens fittings, and the diagnosis and treatment of anterior and posterior segment diseases. Dr. Tran has a keen interest in dry eye treatment, reflecting his patient-centered approach to optometry.
Dr. Tran’s commitment to community service is evident through his volunteer work, including preschool vision screenings and mentoring for the Berkeley Optometry Foresight Club. His research experience in undergraduate labs at UCLA, working with bacterial and yeast cells, showcases his scientific curiosity and foundational knowledge.
A member of esteemed organizations such as the American Academy of Optometry, American Optometric Association, and National Optometric Student Association, Dr. Tran is also BLS CPR certified and proficient in multiple EMR systems, ensuring the highest standards of care and efficiency in our practice.
