Dr. Jennifer K. Sablad, O.D. is a recent addition to the In Focus Optometry team. As a South Bay Area native and local, Dr. Sablad is delighted to serve her hometown community, having spent the last 12 years in practice on the Monterey peninsula in both corporate and private ophthalmology settings.

Dr. Sablad completed her bachelor's degree in microbiology at UC Davis, where she graduated with honors. She continued her graduate studies at UC Berkeley, where she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2009. During her time at UC Berkeley, she served as president of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society. Her clinical training included externships at UC Berkeley’s Meredith Morgan Eye Center, Kaiser Permanente, and several Veterans Affairs Hospitals across California. She also completed a post-doctoral program at Peking University Third Hospital in Beijing, China.

Her practice experience includes primary eye care as well as co-managing conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, and retinal disease. She also enjoys fitting patients with glasses and contact lenses that are most ideally matched for their vision and lifestyle needs.

Outside of the office, Dr. Sablad loves to hike and explore many of the beautiful trails in the area and beyond. She also enjoys cooking, baking, and spending time with her husband and two young children.
