Dr. Krista Mathson is well versed in the medical model of optometry, including diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, and co-management of diabetic eye disease. She is also proficient in fitting specialty contact lenses for keratoconus and other corneal conditions.

Being highly nearsighted herself, Dr. Mathson is passionate about orthokeratology and other forms of myopia control. She appreciates the opportunity to educate her patients on the connection between ocular and systemic health, as well as how to keep your precious eyes healthy for life.

Dr. Mathson was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, and has worked in the eyecare industry since age nineteen. At Augustana College, she focused her studies on both Biology and Psychology before completing her doctorate at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, receiving honors in her clinical rotations. She brings compassion and expertise to ensure that your contacts and glasses enhance your vision fully with the best technology.

Dr. Mathson enjoys reading crime novels, taking yoga and barre classes, and spending time with loved ones. She is active in the profession of optometry as a member of the Illinois Optometric Association and American Optometric Association.
