I want to affirm how horrible he is as an ocularist. His office setting is really displeasing with a TV always playing and his commentary about things is just unnecessary and uncomfortable. All of the glass eyes he has made me have never fit well and have always caused me pain. I would never recommend him to anyone. His level of care is unsatisfactory.

I consider myself fortunate to have known both Steven & Renee Young since 1972. It's not that the need for an Ocularist is a common occurrence by& my guess is that more than half of the public doesn't even really know the definition of ,an Ocularist? ( I bet your googling right now!) Oakland, CA. Is home to arguably the top Ocularist in the world & thanks to his Wife & Office Manager Renee, this well run & one of a kind Ocular world of wonder provides custom fit hand made & hand painted eyes to those who need one or two. For those with deformities of the eye loss of vision of total blindness, it is without reservations that through 50 years of real life experience I can competently recommend Steven R Young for your custom Ocular Prosthetic needs.

Dr. Steve should have gotten 5 stars and he would have had he and Rene not been so disrespectful today, yesterday, and Saturday. I had a 10:30 am appt. I am there 15 mins. early. A family from Sacramento show up with an 11am appt. Needless to say that family was seen before me. They were in and out before their actual appt. time. Rene told me all she was doing was putting them in a room, but somehow the Doctor did not get that memo. Last Saturday, In the middle of taking care of me, Dr. Steve got up and went to another patient. I told him that I needed to feed the meter but 27 minutes later he lets me but only after Rene told me that I should have parked in the garage. I have been a patient for more than 25 years and until today, I had no plans to leave. My time is as valuable as his is.

Fantastic optometrist. Super helpful and will spend a lot of time with you. Everyone is really nice and the office is very relaxed and comfortable.

Dr. Siu is the best! Knowledgeable and great sense of humor. I have been seeing him for over 10 years.

Have been coming to this office for over 30 years. It wasn't until recently that notice how unprofessional the front desk person is. She never calls or text to remind for appointments. My daughter's glasses have been with the wrong prescription twice. She's very loud and rude over the phone. She actually even hung up on me a couple of times. Then told me to find my daughter a new eye doctor because she was tired of dealing with me .When I asked her for her supervisor she informed me that she was in charge and actually part-owner. Which is a lie. So over all I love the doctor Arthur Siu. I think the front staff Erica definitely need some more training especially when working with other ethnic groups.

It was a pleasure having my eyes checked by Dr Sugimura. I felt like she knew exactly what she was doing and she was careful to alert me to potential health risks due to my eyes changing (thankfully, I realized it had been much longer than I thought since my last eye exam). I also enjoyed talking with her during the appointment. She clearly cares about her patients and has a lot of experience. There is a selection of frames to try -- I had my eyes dilated so I opted to go home instead of shop but I'm coming back with my wife to buy a pair of glasses too. Highly recommended.

Dr. S is so kind and friendly. She makes me feel like I’m just visiting a friend when I go in for an exam. Yet very professional and responds quickly. She goes out of her way to help you out! 💯 recommended …
