Never answers phone to make an appointment. So glad I changed my son and myself to South Gate Optometry.

Do NOT go here if you care about your eyes! My grandma came here and they did laser surgery and left her WORSE. Said her glucoma was gonna leave her blind and we went to get a second opinion and they said her vision is fine. Everyone in the waiting room talks about how surgery from this place leaves them worse. I am not joking please. Get referred somewhere else.

Terrible, I haven't been here in years. I need my glasses fix. I was looking for information. it's not even 820 am and these ppl leave me on hold pick up and click, Dr hernandez is way better unfortunately under construction, so I tried here nope, no thank you

Getting checked out takes long but waiting for your next appointment takes even longer!!! Like how does the thing thats suppose to be quick takes the longest at an eye doctor! How ridiculous!

First time patient I love my first experience it went really fast. When I got my lab work done they ladies were very helpful with my 1 yr old. I'm glad I switched to this clinic

Don't waste your time ! Better service elsewhere! Had an appointment showed up 20 minutes early instead of the 15 I was told , got there Karen/janitor / nurse said it was closed & shut the door, waste of time !

Called ahead and was told to go in before 10am for a walk in provider for a shoulder injury, went in and was sent home because they “couldn’t see me” until 2:45 pm, wasted gas for no reason and wasn’t even checked out. Was told to wait until a cancellation happened as if I don’t have other errands to run.

Came to Michigan to visit my in laws and first day here I had some pain in my eye. Staff got me in same day and Dr Elston diagnosed me with a corneal ulcer. It apparently is pretty serious and he had to see me for three straight days. Not exactly what I wanted to do on my vaca but staff and doctor were awesome. Thanks Doctor Elston, you were kind, compassionate and patient with me and I (and my right eye) really appreciate it.

We are newer to the area, so I was looking for an ophthalmologist nearby. I went here about a year ago with my two kids. We all got exams. It seemed very busy and chaotic. Not a big deal. My kids are older, so it was fine to wait for a bit. The exams seemed rushed, but pretty standard. They showed me some glasses after, but it was dinner time and the kids wanted to go. So, I ask for my prescription to possibly grab some glasses somewhere else. That’s when I realized that my eyes had somehow gotten better? They hadn’t. They got worse and I’ve had to wait another year to get an exam (if I want it covered by my insurance). The staff was polite, but not at all personable. It felt more like retail sales tactics than help.
