I decided to check them out since they had such a high rating on my VSP plan. What a pleasant experience at an eye doctor! The staff were friendly and very efficient so I was in & out of there. Perfect for someone with a busy schedule. Dr. Semel is very knowledgeable so I really feel like I left there with so much more info. on how to care for my vision. She also saw something that my previous Dr. missed. They have a very nice frame selection which was fun trying all these styles on. Dr. Marshak, the optometrist helped me pick out a nice frame and lenses for all the computer work that I do. They also validate parking so thats a major plus!

Second time getting my eye exam here. 1st time went great [2014], this time not so much. I made an appointment online which was very easy. I was sent 3 confirmation emails, to which i confirmed each time. They also called me 4 or 5 times to confirm the appointment or ask me to change the time b/c someone else had an eye emergency. I couldn't change the time b/c of my work schedule. I came to the office and was seen pretty quickly, until the tech put eye drops in my eyes to dilate them without even telling/asking me. The the tech said i would have to wait approx 15 minutes for my eyes to dilate, so i went to pick out my new frames. I was not seen for over an hour! They put my in an exam room and I could here Dr. Semel chatting away with another patient the entire time in the room next door. Checking my eyes took less than 30 seconds, but she was talking to another patient about the quality of her tears for 45 minutes. You would think she could just come and check my eyes and then go back to the patient. My appointment was at 4pm and i didn't leave the office until well after 6pm. As if that wasn't enough, they told me that my glasses would be ready in about a week, but i didn't get them for close to a month! They kept telling my that it was the way my insurance was set up... come to find out that someone broke my lenses while making them and they had to start all over. Finally went to pick up my glasses and asked for a copy of my prescription and was told that Dr. Semel was too busy to sign it. The clerk said she would email it to me... i have yet to receive it. wont be going here next time!

This was my first time At this office to get my eyes checked. I have to say my experience was great!! The staff was very nice and helpful. The doctor explained everything to me that I was concerned About. She seemed to really care and I like that about her. I would definitely refer my friends here.

I am so impressed with this office. I began to see extra floaters in one eye and wanted to get it checked out before heading out of town. Dr SEMEL’s office was so understanding and booked me an appointment the next day. While there, everyone I dealt with was extremely professional and nice. A top notch practice.

I've been going to El Segundo Eyecare for 3+ years, and have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Rosales and Christine. They have consistently been kind, welcoming, and professional in managing new prescriptions, helping get my first pair of contacts, and consistently go above and beyond to make sure that their care is as good as can be. Christine called to check in a few days after teaching me to use contacts, and ended up ordering a slightly different trial of my contact prescription to see if there was any improvement (there was, thanks Dr. Rosales!). They have also helped me source prescription lenses for a pair of sunglasses I love that they don't even carry in the store, which has been awesome! I'm sure some of you miss being able to wear your favorite sunglasses driving as your vision has worsened... I sure did, and am so happy they've been so helpful in the process! Both Dr. Rosales and Christine are very easy to talk to, and maintain a serene environment in the shop at all times. Any 1 star or negative reviews should be read with skepticism -- anyone who can't get along with these two should probably go to therapy, but it is the internet, after all. Don't believe everything you read... and support this local business! Unlike any other aspect of my current healthcare, I look forward to speaking with Christine and Dr. Rosales -- from scheduling appointments, follow ups, and my visits themselves, they have made the process of managing my eyesight a joy, and deserve to be acknowledged for it! For anyone concerned about C*vid -- they both have been masked at all times every time I've visited, and taken the additional time to install barriers on all of the sight evaluation equipment to ensure that, even with masks, nobody coming or leaving the shop has anything to worry about. Looking forward to continuing to work with these two as long as I live in Los Angeles!

I've been working with El Segundo Eye Care for years now. First with glasses then with contact lenses. The team was extremely patient in helping me dial in my eye care needs. I'm a designer who has worked in the South Bay for 30 years and my eyes are EVERYTHING to me. Being able to work with ESEC and fine tune my vision was crucial. I wasn't the standard case when I came in every 6 month...I was in there multiple times to work thru the issues I had. The team was patient, understanding and very accommodating to my needs and worked to solved the issues I was having. I've finally found a level of clarity that helps me do my job to the best of my abilities. Thanks to ESEC for the continued support and professionalism that I truly needed.

Very extremely outdated medical equipment. None of the nurses of medical staff including the doctor knew how to conduct or operate it. When I went, the doctor said he'd do an eye pressure test for my existing glaucoma. None of them knew how to do it. He then said they'll try it on another machine. I waited for about 20 minutes just for him to say they'll keep using the same one. Then they wanted to conduct the test anyways despite none of them knowing how to operate it. I've taken eye pressure tests countless times as I've had glaucoma for almost 5 years. Please save yourself time & money and go anywhere else.

Three women in the front desk. These staffs are unfriendly and refused assist patients. SIMPLY NASTY people. I called 1:44 pm & wanted to make an urgent appointment. Staff named Helen told me I needed to get a referral from my primary doctor first. Otherwise, she would not even talk to me. For my primary doctor's help, I've got an urgent referral. It was 2:20 pm. Then, Helen told me her clinic close at 3 pm & fully booked, so she would not give me urgent appointment today. She should notify me her clinic close at 3 pm when I called her at 1:44pm. Then, I would not pursue getting urgent referral nor try to make an appointment with her. I would get referral to see other ophthalmology in my area. She wasted my valuable time. Helen knew she would not give me an urgent appointment even though I've had referral from my primary doctor. I confronted her, then, she asked me to either admit it to an urgent care or seek help from my primary doctor. I've been urgent care before, it is not for the place for eye patience. No sympathy for sick patience. Bad staffs to deal with. ZERO STAR office.

Receptionist is very unprofessional and rude!! Dr.kim is very famous and good but need to check the staff's attitude!!!
