Dr. Sorenson is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal surgery and macular disease. He is a nationally recognized expert in the care of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and in the surgical management of retinal detachments as well as macular hole and macular pucker surgery. He is a part of the team of the VRMNY retina specialists and is on the surgical staff at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital.
Author
He has authored and co-authored over 100 articles in peer reviewed journals and has lectured at many scientific meetings throughout the world. He has participated in many of the teaching activities of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and in 1996, received its Honor Award for his services.
Research
His research interests primarily involve the diagnosis and treatment of age–related macular degeneration. He serves as a scientific reviewer for the major ophthalmology journals.
