Michael S. Korey, M.D. attended the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign from which he graduated with Phi Beta Kappa distinction, receiving Bachelor of Science degree. He received the M.D. degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago where he was selected as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society.

Ophthalmology

Following medical school, he completed an internship and specialty residency training in ophthalmology at the Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center where he served as Chief Resident in Ophthalmology. Dr. Korey then pursued further sub specialty training, concentrating in the treatment of glaucoma, at the internationally renowned Barnes Eye Hospital of Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.

​Dr. Korey has authored numerous professional articles in his field and as an acknowledged expert in the management of glaucoma has lectured extensively nationwide. Dr. Korey is a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a founding member of the Chicago Glaucoma Society. Dr. Korey is a member of the faculty of the University of Illinois School of Medicine and serves as Chief of the Glaucoma Services of both the Mercy Hospital and Medical Center and the Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Dr. Korey is a partner in the Chicago Eye Institute.
