Roberto Warman, M.D. Graduated from La Salle University Mexican School of Medicine and earns the Presidential Award as the best student in Mexico in 1980.
Following his internship in Internal Medicine in Baylor Houston Texas, he did his Ophthalmology Residency at the Ochsner Foundation in New Orleans Louisiana, where he earned the Best Resident Award in 1985.
He continued his postgraduate training at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute University of Miami with double subspecialty fellowships in Neuro-Ophthalmology and Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus from 1985 to 1987.
Since then he has practiced at Miami Children’s Hospital now Nicklaus Children’s Hospital where he is the Director Emeritus of the Division of Ophthalmology, previous Chief of Surgery and Member of the Medical Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the Miami Children’s Hospital. Has been a Clinical Professor at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami, training residents for the past 37 years and now under his direction bringing more subspecialty care from Bascom Palmer to Miami Children’s Hospital. Won the best teaching award at BPEI in 2003-2004.
He works with numerous teaching programs in South America and Mexico, as well as providing care for indigent patients in Ecuador and Mexico.
He has numerous publications in peer-review journals and presentations both national and international.
He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and a fellow member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus and the Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology. He is both fluent in English and Spanish.
