Dr. Pendergast is brilliant! He is kind, efficient, and thorough in dealing with my eye condition. He answers your questions in a clear, straightforward manner, which, under the circumstances, is exactly what I need. His assistants have been very kind and helpful in explaining what is going to happen.

Stay far away, says they take insurance, but charge exorbitant rates for frames and lenses, unfriendly staff, a very unprofessional place overall. I got better service at walmart, but they dont take vision insurance. Well neither does Ellen Ellsworth, stay away!!!!

My husband, my father in law and myself absolutely love Dr. Ellsworth. She is very thorough with examines, very knowledgeable with up to date eye care and is one of the most friendliest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Staff is very kind and helpful as well. I have went to several other eye doctors due to insurance change in the past and no one comes close to excellence as she and her staff do. I’d pay out of pocket if our insurance changed than going anywhere else in the future.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Ellsworth for over 15 years. She is my favorite doctor! I appreciate her thoughtfulness in remembering my little family milestone updates I mention during my appointment. Thank for you for always making me feel comfortable!

We heard the horror stories, but we decided to give Walmart Eye care a shot. My fiancée scheduled and was promised an exam and complimentary pair of contacts to boot. After dealing with an incredibly rude and incompetent eye care "professional" she inquired about the contacts that lured us to this atrocious place. The doctor (exaggeration) told her they would not give her a trial pair. After further questioning, the doctor admitted that it was basically a marketing ploy and there would be 3 or 4 more subsequent follow up appointments to get her contacts. Even after insisting that we would return for the follow up examinations, they refused to give her the provided contacts. They were incredibly rude and admitted they falsely advertised and offered promises they had no intention of keeping. Halfway through the appointment when she realized that they were not going to give her the contacts, my fiancée stated that she would like to leave. She was told she would be charged for a full exam. All in all they admitted to blatantly lying and when they were discovered, brashly informed her they would not let her leave without paying for a full service. An absolutely pitiful experience and would recommend anyone in the Painesville area to avoid this service at the Mentor Walmart at all costs.

Would never recommend this location. Dr was very rude and made inappropriate comments to me as to why I was getting my glasses. The lady in front was equally as rude. I tried asking questions and she kept cutting me off. When my glasses arrived I went to get them. I told her I was there to get my glaases. She told me to have a seat. I told her I was just picking them up. She then said she needed to adjust them. I told her I was going to a different store where they cared about their customers. She wasn't going to give me my glasses I already paid for but after 5 minutes and me getting a little verbal she finally gave them to me. Will never go back. They need to get a more professional team to in there

Not happy with this Company. Order a clear lenses for glasses. Had surgery done, and needed 1 clear lenses. I was told the glasses would be back on Wednesday, Nope not back until Friday, and not phone call to let me know that the glasses were in. NOT CORRECT. BUT IN, YOU WOULD OF THOUGHT THEY WOULD OF CHECK BEFORE DISPENSING THE GLASSES BACK TO ME. BUT NO!!!! They had glasses for over a week. Went to pick up on Friday, gave me the glasses, with not clear lenses. Only lenses was the prescription lenses. Why did they have the glasses sent out for a clear lenses and not make one. What did the lab do for over a week. Then she was going to keep the prescription lenses. UNBELIEVABLE.

The optician was awesome and spent time making sure I got fitted for just the right glasses! My experience was great! The glasses came in one week and again she spent time making sure they fit correctly and explained the care to me in detail. The glasses are a perfect fit and very comfortable! I would definitely recommend Professional Optical! It’s also very convenient as it’s located within the office of Opthalmic Physicians!

I had called last week for an appointment for eye strain. They set me up with a time for Monday. When I came to the desk, I gave her my name and appointment time, and she said, “We don’t have you on our schedule.” Then she said “Oh, you don’t have to see Dr. GR until January.” I was flabbergasted!! What a way to warmly accept and welcome a patient! How should I respond to an off-putting statement “Oh, you don’t have to see Dr. GR until January?” Did she want me to say “My mistake,” and walk out? She then mentioned the words ‘new system’. She said she’d try to get me in, and I said, “Well, I do have an appointment.” She then admitted that mistakes have been happening, but she will get me in. When I was called back, I asked if I was on the schedule, and the technician said “yes, on our side you are." I also saw a poster about the new system being installed early June and it would take a few weeks. Now that it’s August, I wonder why the receptionist didn’t see my name missing and then proceed to investigate further? The ‘new system’ is a big clue, as is other mistakes, to tell anyone to check further. Nevertheless, she spoke to me with “Oh, you don’t have to see Dr. GR until January.” My appointment was with ML for eyestrain, not with GR for an annual exam. It seems she was more interested in spouting off that she knew everything, or was just reading off the terminal whatever was written there, and not applying cognitive skills.
