Seeking an opportunity to have my Glasses repaired I visited Dr. Van Christian. The young lady at the counter presented as personable pleasant and genuinely wanting to be helpful! Additional staff were equally as pleasant and the person completing the repairs went above and beyond making sure that my glasses were repaired accurately. An overall Wonderful Experience!

Horrible Customer Service. I showed up early for a 9:30 appointment and at 10:00 i asked if it would be much longer, and she replied smugly that it shouldn't be too much longer. So at 10:30 i decided that dealing i with a Dr. office that has no consideration for its customers... customers time is not a place that deserves my business. I would recommend that you look for any other options before settling for this place. So now thanks to them i have to go back to another waiting list and take more time off from work. Thanks alot.

5 stars is not enough. Mr Gary went over and above to ensure that my new glasses were ready, in a very tight time frame. Same with the Dr who examined my eyes, he came to the store, at the drop of a hat, on his day off, to perform my exam. Forget the big chain stores, shop local, best service I have had in years, thank you Sir.

We can't say enough good things about this place. Gary is very knowledgeable and professional! We won't go anywhere else for glasses and contact lenses.

The first couple of times I went into Spectacles four years ago, I received very good service. I had gone in there because my previous optician had sold me prescription sunglass lenses that developed scratches. The owner/optician at Spectacles assured me that he would have replaced them had those lenses been his store's. A year and a half later, my new prescription sunglass lenses from Spectacles developed similar scratches!
When I brought them in to be replaced, the same owner/optician not only refused to replace them but screamed at me!! I later found out that the sunglass lenses they use at Spectacles should only be used for children's sunglasses because scratches happen so often. I now use a reputable optician who uses telescope type glass that is tinted throughout the glass. Lesson Learned: Don't give this optician your business!

Dr. Dan Caplan and his associates (including retina specialists), as well as his office staff, have done an excellent job taking care of my eyes over the past 25 years. Having locations on both sides of the lake has been very helpful. He runs a very efficient office with the most up to date equipment and testing capability to best evaluate and follow ophthalmology conditions. He is very well trained and has a great "bedside manner" in dealing with patients. His office is also very helpful with keeping up on medication prescriptions. Having an excellent array of stylish eyeglasses available at both locations is also very helpful. Dr. Caplan gets top grades in my book!

Dr. Agnew accused me of asking for a refund on the incorrect lenses her lab made because the frames were broken and then asked me to leave the store.
I purchased glasses from Eye Wares on 6/8/2023. I was told the glasses would be ready in 2 weeks. I called to check a couple times after the glasses were supposed to be ready and was told each time they were still in the lab. I waited. I called again later and was told they were ready but still at the lab uptown. I drove uptown myself to pick them up and finally received my daughter's glasses on 7/8/2023. 2 weeks late. Not the best communication and customer service, but I let it slide.
Then my daughter broke her glasses. I brought them back fully expecting to just have to pay for a new pair. One of the associates told me that they may be within warranty and that they would check and get back to me in a couple days, which I appreciated. No one ever called me back, so I again had to call them. I was told that the glasses are being made and should be ready in a couple days. Great.
In the meantime, I brought my daughter for her checkup with here eye doctor. The doctor checked her glasses and notified me that the lens for the right eye was not made according to the specs he provided in the prescription. When I went back to Eye Wares to request a refund (for the lenses only since the frames were broken) I was told no by Dr. Agnew. She accused me of trying to get a refund because the frames were broken. She said they could make the lenses again. Why would I want them to make the lenses again when I've had this experience with them? Don't waste your money or time with this business.
