My family and I have been going here for years. The doctor is great, and very knowledgeable and I use to love the reception staff that worked here years ago. They were always kind, and friendly. In the more recent years I have had similar issues as other reviewers with difficulty in being able to reach someone on the phone but that didn't deter me from still going here. Today, I reached out 24 hrs in advance to request a reschedule for my son's appointment, and I was informed that they have a newer policy regarding rescheduling appointments which is 48hrs notice to reschedule, or $50 missed appointment fee that could not be waived. (which I was unaware of and I cannot find this on their website. They did say it is documented on their business cards and other places.)
It is their policy, which is absolutely their right to have for their business. However, being that you cannot control what happens with you or your family when it comes to getting sick, family emergencies, etc. Regardless I respect their policy if that is what they wish to put in place for their business.
What is most disappointing is, I called to speak with the staff regarding needing to reschedule, and after speaking with reception and expressing my concerns, I was put on hold for a few minutes and transferred to the owner. The owner took my call and expressed to me all the reasons this policy was put into place, all the patients who cancel appointments, and how their business suffers because of it. She brought up appointments that I've rescheduled in the past years as well, and how they get customers all the time to who use the "I've been coming here for years" "excuse". I patiently listened to her share this with me.
When she was done talking, I was barely given the chance to speak or be heard which I feel would have at least been decent customer service to hear me out even if she didn't plan to adjust their policy or waive the fee for me - she has NO idea why I needed to reschedule, she has no idea about what goes on with my family, my kids, or our health, and she didn't CARE to know either, in my opinion because no one asked. It almost seemed as if the frustrations of the office were being taken out on me, especially because she noted how just yesterday 6 ppl were no show. (Again, I was not a no show, I just asked to reschedule 24hrs in advance which is typical for all of the doctors that my family goes to).
She cut me off while I tried to speak (I never raised my voice) and she continuously was talking over me the ENTIRE time when I tried to say something :-( I would be surprised if she actually heard anything that I said. It was a very unpleasant experience and I was even shaking a bit after the call because I was just in shock since I've met this lady during office visits, and she's mostly been kind to me and my kids in the past.
In conclusion, they obviously put this policy in place for their best interest, which I understand, especially for no show appointments. If you are someone who has kids, a family and things come up often and you are juggling many things in life and things change on shorter notice, this may not be the place for you. This place should be great for those who don't have a lot going on personally, and people who know far in advance if they need to reschedule. Again, the care is great when it comes to your eye exams and the doctors knowledge.
Unfortunately, in my case because of the combativeness and poor customer service that I feel I received, it is in my best interest to look elsewhere for eye care for my family and I.
I really want to give 1 star for this experience, but I would love to give 5 stars for the doctor, So I put 3 stars - mid way.

The staffers and MD were very friendly and courteous! MD took time to carefully examine my condition and evaluated me throughly. He’s a true professional in all of his approaches and applications to his patients.

*Great for Husky!*
Dr. Spector is knowledgeable, friendly, and really gives of himself to his patients. I was impressed with how much time he was willing to give me and how much care he evidently has for his patients. And his office was quick to get me an appointment and my new glasses.

My regular eye doctor referred me to this place and I have to say it’s been quite a while since I experienced a new doctors office and it be so pleasant. Everyone was very welcoming and I felt super comfortable. The times we live in now are what bring so much unpleasantness upon us but it was so nice to experience friendliness and hospitality. It’s like I was a patient here forever. Thank you.

The Optician at Walmart Vision, Laura is a kind, caring, compassionate and supportive individual who goes the extra mile in providing all people, young, old, children and adolescents with a truly rewarding experience through offering
them the ability to see the world around them either through glasses or contact lens. She’s has a special gift which she has shared not only with her clients but with other doctors who she has instructed and taught in her own modest way. She’s a gift and a blessing to those she serves. I feel very fortunate to have her as my mentor, my friend and my doctor. I had lost my sight for 5 years after LASIK surgery and it was Dr Jimmy Lee, a corneal specialist at Yale Ophthalmology. Who gave me back my sight after many long years of continuous treatment. However, it was Laura, my optometrist who perfected my eyes with First glasses then contact lenses, her specialty. Thank GOD for these two dedicated people who gave me the gift of sight! I am forever grateful. Amen

The doctor here is great but the staff are terrible. I have gone to this location for years only because of the doctor. I called today trying to make an appointment for an eye exam. The lady who answered asked me to call back in 5 to 10 minutes. I called back in a half an hour. A different person answered and again asked me to call back in 5 to 10 minutes. When I called for the third time I was told by yet another person to call back after 3 p.m. because "they were helping patients." When I explained the situation she assured me I would be assisted after 3 p.m. When I called at 3:45 p.m. I was again asked to call back in 20 minutes. Unbelievable! I've never had to work so hard just to schedule an appointment. They will now have one less patient to "assist" because I can't even make an appointment!
