I found that the reception was friendly and they answered my questions about me answering the questions on the tablet they gave me. I liked them. I was walked back to a testing area and given the glaucoma and air pressure tests by the receptionist. She was polite and explained what I was going to be doing but no explanation of what the tests were for. I was then taken to the exam room and seated in the chair. Shortly after seating myself, I was handed a form saying that I had declined a retinal exam, what the price of the exam was and that Switalski was not responsible for any issues I may have after the appt. due to my refusal to take the exam. I found this irritating as there had been no discussion of this testing prior to me going into the exam room. There was no other explanation offered except that I could discuss it with the Dr. To me this is a scare tactic and probably works on aged people. I am part of the aged population. The Dr. came in and gave me my exam. I did not bring up the retinal testing. He was pleasant enough, but his answer to my question about cataracts was terse and not inviting of more questions. I felt like he just wanted to move on. I paid my co-payment at the front desk and informed them that I would not be back. Obviously, I won’t be recommending this office to my friends.
