If you choose to get an exam here be prepared to get a script for only one year. He does not give out two year scripts but accepts Medi Cal which only approves exams every two years. So you will have one year you will have to wait to get new glasses once your original script expires. It makes no sense. They offer no explanation either. I recommend going elsewhere.

This would have been my 2nd year to go and see the doctor for myself and my oldest son. My husband and my youngest childs appointments would have been new patients. When I called to schedule our appointments back to back on the same day they told me that their office policy only allow 2 members of the family to come in on one day. I cannot even comprehend this office policy that makes absolutely no sense! I'm not asking to be seen at the same time I'm asking for 4 appointments back-to-back. I don't know why I would have to spend money and time to come 2 different days when the same 4 family members can all come in one day! You have just lost 4 patients and I understand why you have a one star review. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Dr. Mewes and the staff at LensCrafters are wonderful (shout out to Beverly, she is so sweet every time!), I didn’t catch their names but the dark haired gentleman and red haired woman are great as well. The doctor does her do diligence in thorough checks of your eyes, listens to your concerns, and is the only eye doctor I’ve had that didn’t just say you’re young, you’re eyes are fine. Turns out they weren’t. Dr. Mewes went above and beyond for me, helping me with rechecks and different trial pairs, even letting me know what I could do that my insurance would and would not cover. I love them here!

I went to our local Lens Crafters for a lens replacement. Greeted by pleasant and helpful staff, the service was provided in a timely manner. Having such a positive experience I want to promote their business and encourage others in a similar situation to do, so and help a business within our downtown mall to remain operable.

We came here because we have eyemed insurance. They are on 2nd floor by Macy's. Everyone is super nice. Decent selection. In some cases their "deals" were better than using my insurance. They aren't super cheap, but not outrageous either. We had our glasses in about 10 days. We got glasses for the family and prescription Oakley sunglasses for my husband. Very happy with our experience here.

First attempted visit. They called to reschedule because Dr took the day off. Next attempt, I was turned away initially because I was without mask. After returning with mask I was asked for my medical insurance. Told them I'd already provided my vision insurance and they replied no, they need my medical insurance also because the doctor does a full medical exam on every patient. I told them I'm not here for a medical exam I just need my prescription updated. The attendant stared at me like I was being difficult then shrugged and dropped a clipboard on the counter and told me to fill it out then turned her back on me. At that point I told them thank you, nevermind and just walked out. Just want to note also that the place smells very old and musty, and has a very cluttered feel to it.

I've been coming to this eye doctor for 5 or 6 years. I would recommend him 100%. The medical staff is friendly and professional. Its 'clearly" the best choice in eye care... Thank you. !!

I have been going to Dr. Reid (and now Dr. Alford, who I went to Righetti High School with in the 1980s) since I was about 10 years old and I am now turning 52 next month.

I usually arrive to appointments a few minutes early. I was amazed at how quickly I was taken into the exam room. The procedure went well and the technician did a great job. She was really friendly and explained thoroughly what was going to happen every step of the way. Thank you
