I do not recommend this practice in the slightest unless you want the wrong prescription and an optometrist who makes excuses. Neither Dr. Wright nor her front desk assistant are very welcoming. You would think a patient would be treated much better than they treat patients. The customer service was never up to par over the course of my visits over the years. There are much nicer eye doctors in the Birmingham/280 area to spend your money. I ended my visits here when I discovered she gave me the wrong prescription. When I initially gave feedback about concerns of the wrong prescription, she increased the strength which over-minused my vision and gave me horrible headaches instead of actually correcting the issue. I only found this out after I got a second opinion from a much nicer practice in the area. The front desk lady told me I should not have sought a second opinion with another optometrist, but I should have allowed Dr. Wright to make the correction a second time. Only a practice that lacks professionalism would make such a statement.

She was pretty nice, only issue was I was the only one in the lobby. They made me sit there for 25 minuets talking about random things. They could of done my exam then talk about other things.

My very first time here. I did have to wait a good while but that I didn’t mind since I know it’s an ER so it is expected. As soon as I got put in a room one of the doctors came and evaluated me and was super nice, the nurse’s were super nice as well. The only thing that I did not like was one of the rude receptionist she is an older lady she wears glasses and has gray boxer braids, she did not greet me once I came in and just her whole vibe was an attitude and keep in mind I was being nice to this lady the whole time. Once she came in the room to give me my ID back I had asked her if I was good to go pretty loud and clear she kept walking and I once again said,”Ma’am am I good to go?” She did not even stop and look back and with an attitude of course said,”I don’t know.” She was the only reason my experience here was not that great. I work as a receptionist in a doctors office and I know for a fact that’s not how you act or treat your patients

Great service! I had a stye that became very infected, causing swelling in my face. I needed emergency surgery (referred from Medhelp on 280), where they drained the area and gave antibiotics. Everyone was super nice and helpful. The surgery was done with local anesthesia so I was in & out in under 2.5hrs on a Saturday. I didn't want to have to go but was happy for all of the help I received! I'm doing so much better after just a few days.

I went there a year ago in agony with an eyeball that was full of splinters. I had already seen my primary care doctor that day and he said I would have to see an ophthalmologist, so I rushed to Callahan. They made me wait 7 hours, even though they had told me there was only one person ahead of me. Numerous people came in after me, and every one of them was seen before me. I asked the receptionist if I had been forgotten, but her response was, "No, we've just had so many emergencies." I saw all those people come in, and I heard their stories and not one was an emergency like mine. The difference was obvious, though. They were all the same color as the receptionist, and some of them, she even knew as friends. I would DIE before I would go back there. Giving this facility one star is actually an exaggeration. The three doctors who worked for hours to remove all the splinters from my eye were wonderful, though. It's a shame that the place isn't run better. I told my primary care doctor of my experience and he said he knew what it was like and had tried to warn me, but I knew of no other option, because it was late in the day.

A great experience from beginning to end. Dr. Parker is extremely talented and thorough. He exudes confidence and is compassionate in his ability to satisfy patient needs. He took the time to discuss the results of the eye exam. His staff is extremely courteous and welcoming. I highly recommend Dr. Parker for eye care.

As usual Dr. Parker did an excellent job. You feel he really cares and is concerned. Can’t say enough good things about him. I really like the office staff. It is peaceful in the waiting room and I have seen the staff help people sign in at the kiosk. The other staff members who help Dr. Parker are efficient, friendly and put you at ease. Overall a fantastic office and doctor.

Very pleased with Dr. Parker and his entire staff. Everyone was very cordial and they explained everything to me. Then the Dr went into detail and then ask if I had any questions. Very pleased.

I’m sure he’s a great doctor but I was never seen after waiting for an hour and had to leave.
