Used to be great, but has gone steadily downhill for the last twenty years. The quality of care is now so low, you are better off having your eyes checked by a potato.

Dr. Larkin did a laser to my eyes. Walked in seeing fine, no glasses and left not even being able to read a menu. Larkin said, that's what happens when you get older. In a day?! She's a quack.

First time scheduling an appointment at the North Kingstown Koch eye and they cancelled last minute. On the rescheduled date I called to let them know I would be driving from out of state and would be 10 minutes late and they told me no issues I have a 15 minute grace period. I arrived within the 15 minutes grace period and the receptionist now tells me I had a 10 minute grace period and that she would ask Dr Catanio if she would take me. She did not take me because I was 2 minutes over her grace period even though I had called in advanced and they told me that wouldn’t be an issue. They should’ve just said that from the beginning very unprofessional.

I have been coming to Dr. Furham for years and he is a great doctor. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for his new young eye tech. He was extremely rude, and very condescending. When I tried to give him my patient history to help my Dr to understand my eye ailment he said we don’t have time for that just tell me if you are taking the medications as directed. I was very taken back by his rude tone. Then when he asked me to read the eye chart I asked him if this was part of my annual eye exam. He said just read the chart, everyone who comes in here has to read the chart. When I spoke up and told him that he could be more courteous to patients he very rudely sat across from me in an extremely sarcastic, condescending nature and said fine, then what would you like to talk about today. This is the second rude snarky encounter I have had with this tech and this could not go over looked. Koch eye needs to train their staff on common courtesy. I was a loyal patients in the community supporting their business. Totally unacceptable!

I recommend Koch eye North Kingstown! From entering the door a refreshing experience. Receptionist was excellent! The assistant was one the most pleasant I’ve been with. Finally Dr. Ireland is a great doctor. Clear considered and very pleasant

Cinda is great! She is very knowledgable and personable. I have been seeing her for a few years now and would recommend her as your next eye doctor.

Despite the numerous issues I had with this office, beginning before I stepped foot inside, the most crucial are a misdiagnosis and a bad eyeglass prescription. I spent over a month under the impression I had a debilitating eye disorder uncommon for my age. After seeing a specialist (and his colleagues) at Rhode Island Eye Institute and an optometrist, it was determined there was thankfully no sign of this condition. I didn’t know I was given a bad prescription until I had ordered new pairs of glasses and it was very obviously not correct. I would caution you to be wary of the overly specific positive reviews for this office.

I’ve always had a positive experience with Vision Care in Barrington. When you walk in, you can easily see how clean it is and how organized the eyeglasses are. But what makes this place special is how Sue has a real gift at helping you find glasses that are just right for you and that you’ll love for a long time! Sue also goes the extra mile to help with insurance payments or to get you in for an eye exam. She really knows the inventory and the ins and outs of processing insurance for you. Definitely give this place a try!

I stopped by to take a quick look and consider buying new eyeglasses. I didn’t have all of my insurance information readily available. Susan was officious, perfunctory and had an unpleasant attitude. I did not feel welcomed and felt like I was more trouble than she was willing to accept. Once she realized she could be losing a new customer when I politely made an effort to leave, she tried a little harder. I will not be back and will seek another more welcoming optical shop for my purchase.
