Great customer service! I'm from out of town and broke my glasses. John at St Matthews Vision Center got me going quickly at a great value. These folks know their stuff and are budget conscious. Thank You John!

If I could give you guys a Michelin start type of reward for best eye care center I’ve ever been to, I would. A. Feels like a mom and pop shop, which I missed having being from France. My previous eye care place was nice but I didn’t feel really cared for. I called them to get an estimate for new glasses (they had my ins on file) but wouldn’t do it unless I came in. I didn’t have the time or energy to go just to find out the cost of new glasses. I decided to find a new store that had the brand of frames i like. I found St Matthews Vision Center and called. John answered , and instead of dismissing me or just answering my question (which he gave me an answer to), he was curious and sought clarity by asking questions. Found out the price, and got me in next day to get my measurements (PD and others). B) John and Sean (son) are kind, caring people. John took over 30mins fixing my current frames (realigned my lens, tightened my frame, cleaned it inside out, measured me again). That was before me even saying “yes I’ll get the new glasses!”.Turns out, John’s kind and caring approach earned him a new customer (and two, switching with the husband!). C) I met Ollie, the sweetest customer! Ollie is one of John and Sean’s customer’s cat and is a sweetie :) TDLR: if you are unsure where to start/go for high quality care, this is it. Local, caring, long lasting relationship kind of thing. I’m not going anywhere else going forward.

They keep you coming back for more and more and more appointments for what they claim is "needed exams". Expensive prescription drops and co-pays. Been back for three appointments and the problem is still not fixed. They made me another appointment again for the same issue. Going to cancel it and go to someone else who can help.

Every member of the staff was incredibly kind and helpful (I wish I had gotten their names) but this is an amazing team of people! I instantly felt comfortable and the quality of care was unmatched. Dr. Patrick is personable while being thorough and thoughtful. The gentleman that helped us pick out our glasses was not only honest and helpful, but informative and completely transparent about our insurance costs and coverage, consistently updating us on what we would pay out of pocket. You get the best quality care with a very personalized and one on one feel that you can’t get most places. I’m sad we didn’t start coming here sooner but I could not see myself going anywhere else while we live in Louisville!

Dr. Patrick is extremely knowledgeable in fitting patients with the perfect contact lenses that fit their needs. He is friendly, personable, and gives you all of the time you need during an appointment. I recently purchased a new pair of glasses and the lady that helped me was very helpful and knowledgeable in fitting me with the perfect pair of glasses. She was thorough and meticulous in making sure that my glasses were made correctly by the lab and that I was completely satisfied. I highly recommend River City Eyecare.

Wait time was very short in office. Staff and doctor Finch were very friendly and efficient. My exam results were immediately available. It's comforting to have a long term history with the doctor.

The support staff were awesome and explained everything they were doing. That is so important to a patient to understand what is happening to their individual circumstances as we are all different. However when a diagnosis is relayed to a person who is writing a report, it would be helpful if the time was taken to explain to the patient who it was concerning by the Dr who was giving the diagnosis, and in language the patient would understand. We as patients rely on the Dr's to help us to understand what is happening with us as individuals. Not spend 5 minutes and charge me and our insurance exorbitant amounts of money to not be intelligently informed about their health.

Dr. Andrew Kerns is a great optometrist. I never feel rushed during my appointments and he genuinely wants what is best for the patient. I drive across town to see him for my annual eye exam. When you are experiencing eye pain, it feels like an emergency and you want an optometrist who you trust. I was experiencing issues in my right eye and after exhausting my primary care doctor I got an appointment the next working day. Dr. Kerns solved my issues and I was feeling better that same day.

My first visit to this practice in 2021 was great. The doctor was friendly and knowledgeable. He worked very hard to help me get the best discount when I needed to order a year's supply of contacts. However, my second visit this past August … More
