I did my surgery four years ago with Dr. Beitman and I am not satisfied with the results at all. I had the worst pain that I wasn’t aware about prior to the surgery. He promised almost immediate results which I did not get from day one to now. My vision remained blurry, and the attitude of the doctor is very very very nasty. I visited an eye doctor today and I got reviews that my eyes were very messed up from this surgery and need fixing once again. I wouldn’t recommend this doctor to anybody, even to my own enemy. Be aware!!!!

My husband got a Lasik eye surgery 4 years ago and he promised my husband to get a perfect eye vision for the rest of his life and until this day my husband‘s eye vision is not good and he still see blurry and another eye doctor checked his eyes and told him that he has done the worst surgery for his eyes. Plus doctor Beitman has the worst attitude with the patients I would never recommend Dr. Beitman to anybody.

I would not recommend Beitman Laser Eye Institute. I was assured that I would have a 2 day recovery, and see 20/20 after my LASEK surgery. It has been almost 2 years and I still do not see clearly! It has been a nightmare. My job entails looking at a computer screen and numbers all day, so a fast recovery was very important to me. It took MONTHS for me to even be able to return to my job. At each follow-up appointment, he would give me a new timeline for recovery and tell me to “be patient.” I did everything I was supposed to do. I used all of my drops exactly as prescribed. I eventually went to another Eye specialist because I wanted answers. I was told that I have a lot of “unexplained” astigmatism, inflammation, and should get glasses to help me see. I have a different prescription in each eye now. One is near sighted and one is far sighted. On top of that, when I asked for my records from Dr. Beitman, the ”map of my eye” they took before surgery had someone else’s name and date typed at the top. That name was crossed out and they hand-wrote my name and date. When I confronted the doctor, he said it was a clerical error but it is definitely my eye map! How unprofessional!?

I am very fond of this quaint little optical shop. You wouldn't think that when you walk in, that you will be instantly surrounded by colorful, gorgeous and stylish women's eyeglass frames. And then you have the men's cool current and more toned down styles of the oval, wayfarer, rectangular, etc shaped eyeglass frames. And of course we can't forget the younger boys and girls that have been finally available in fun colors, shapes and designs. And then you have some of the old basic oldies and simple frames that are available in a more affordable price range. Speaking of which, all of their frames range in all different prices! And I especially like the fact that I have a unique insurance and was very lucky to find out that GNB Optical was a provider! Then to top it off, what makes shopping the most important, is the spectacular customer service experience! They are very professional and really care about finding the perfect frame that looks fabulous and fits you perfectly, and they also make sure that the frames can accommodate the prescription lenses that you have been prescribed. They are very good at making sure that they take the correct measurements so that you will be able to see properly and feel comfortable looking through the lenses. Finally, I don't usually write reviews unless something or some company etc. meets way beyond my average expectations, especially when they are spectacular and always treat me the same way. Then I feel like it's my duty to tell the public about why they shouldn't hesitate to make an appointment to see their very nice and thorough optician to update your prescription before you choose your new pair of glasses or also sunglasses as well. But if you already have an outside prescription, it's not a problem. My biggest goal is that as many possible future GNB Optical customers/patients will read this review and go to GNB Optical and get some new glasses!! Take a chance! You will never look back.... *No one gave me anything in exchange for this review. Everything I have said is truthful to the best of my ability.

I starting seeing Dr.Shaba in Jan. due to awful dry eyes. Saw her today and eyes have improved greatly. Dr Shaba is knowledgeable and continues to attend seminars to inform her on how to keep current with the latest techniques to help her patients. Her kindness and time with each patient goes over and above must Dr.’s I have ever seen. I would highly recommend her and Crystal her assistant is also wonderful!!

Dr. Shaba is genuinely a national treasure for the dry eye community - I believe we are extraordinarily lucky to have her in southeast Michigan. I started seeing her earlier in the year for severe dry eye. The first appointment was extremely thorough, treating you as if you were her only patient that day. She efficiently and effectively identified the issue and cause, and laid out a treatment plan. At the first visit, I was in very bad shape. Within a few months, I am now at a stage where my dry eye disease is tolerable, and getting better with each passing month. My eye inflammation is also virtually gone now as well. The key is her immense passion for the field. She regularly attends conferences and stays up to date with the latest research and techniques. Moreover, she only recommends and uses treatments that are considered best for the patient, even if it may come at a higher cost to her practice. Most importantly, she truly cares for her patients. In the medical field, it's typical to call a doctor's office and never get a callback, let alone the ability to come in the same day for an issue. With Dr. Shaba, she and her office have personally answered my calls immediately and has seen me the same day for any pressing issue I have, even if it means she has to work later than her usual close time (she is quite busy). Just an all around amazing experience here.

Dr. Siegel just recently moved to a new office and I chose to follow him even thought it's further away than before, 20 miles. I have been a patient of Dr. M. Siegel for 31 yrs. He is a wonderful Dr. He guided me through all my eye issues. … More
