I got PRK done here by Dr Sane and it worked out perfectly for me. I have no side effects (not even the common dry eye) and perfect vision (slightly better than 20/20, but not quite 20/15). I did tons of research on all types of procedures and risk factors, studies, etc. I read many reviews on here as well to help me make my decision, so now I am contributing back my own experience. This place uses Contoura Vision laser. They are more pricey probably for this reason. PRK + Contoura is the gold standard when you factor in both risks and quality of outcome. In my case I had to go with PRK because of my thin corneas, but I appreciate there are less risks for this procedure than for lasik. I still had to wear sunglasses most of the time outdoors to avoid late onset corneal haze, but only for the 6 months. The recovery was not painful for me. I only used the numbing drops for one of my eyes, however I've heard this varies a lot per person. Though the recovery is not fun because your vision is not great for several weeks and you have to put ton of drops. I did one eye at a time (1 week apart). This extends recovery time, but it is well worth it in my opinion. I was more confident because I knew if something went wrong, I'd still have my other eye intact. Few people know this, but the FDA actually recommends one eye at a time to reduce risks. On top of that, doing one eye at a time allowed me to continue working (desk job). Your vision is so bad at first that reading on a computer screen is too difficult, and would harm your recovery anyways. I popped one lens off of my glasses and put a no-pressure eye patch on top of my eye that just got operated. I hope this helps someone out there!

I had Lasik done 6 months ago by Dr. Furlong. The procedure was quick and my eyes quickly healed with great results. The team was available to answer my many questions and calm anxiety pre-procedure, they really helped me feel comfortable during the process.

I came in for my educational appointment in Nov 2022, decided on ICL surgery based on my rx (around -8.00) and cornea measurements (average thickness), came back in Jan 2023 for ICL consultation, and got scheduled for surgery in early March. Had a handful of pre-op and post-op appointments (still have one more 3 month post-op appt) and each one has been pleasant, quick and straightforward. Dr. Furlong and his staff are all very warm, friendly and professional. The ICL surgery itself takes place in Los Gatos and that was a good experience too. Legit surgery process with a pre-op and post-op recovery room (you don’t really need it imo) and the surgery went by so quickly and for the very most part, easily (thank you, anesthesiologist). The healing process has been simple and quick. It’s amazing - I haven’t been able to see the big E on the rx board for yearssss, and now I’m seeing at 20/15 both eyes. 🥹 Highly recommend both Dr. Furlong and ICL.

Make sure they're in network before you go in. They will tell you they're in network (through 3rd party) and push you to come in for exam. When you're ready to go through your insurance, they don't follow insurance coverage as they " have to follow what we see on our end'. Shady business practices. Please be upfront and don't try to trick others.

I went to see the doctor for a routine eye exam, and didn't purchase glasses(I wanted to purchase those Bose Sunglasses that they don't sell). I paid for the eye exam, and expect to receive all the necessary information to get glasses as I had specifically mentioned I only use glasses. Of course, I don't know what all I would need. But when I went to get the lenses made for my sunglasses, the lens maker asked for PD measurement, which they hadn't provided. I asked to get that measurement from them, and they refused to do it for me unless I paid them extra money ($25). This is a very shady business. I eventually went to a costco, and got that measurement done for free, but this store lost my business forever.

This place gives you the runaround on new glasses. Tell me why exactly you can start out at a certain price and then complain long enough that the price is slashed by $75 or more? Then, there's the promises. I ask them multiple times if the glasses are going to be scratch proof? Scratch resistant, they're sure to correct me. Not two weeks later after I get them, they're covered in scratches. I DIDNT EVEN DROP THEM. Bring them back angrily, and say "what gives" and they give me a speech about "sometimes just your eyelashes can cause scratches". That was truly the end for me with this store. My EYELASHES are causing the scratches on these SCRATCH RESISTANT lenses?! What exactly do they RESIST scratches from if they can't resist EYELASHES? They replaced the lenses for free, which I appreciated. This place has fine enough customer service if only they weren't running a racket. Not two weeks later, my lenses are covered in scratches, yet again. This time I went to Costco to have them replaced, and a year later my Costco lenses are scratch free. I won't be coming to this store again.

I was seen twice at this clinic, the first time my visit felt very rushed, the receptionist is not welcoming at all. I had to reschedule my appointment and the person who was on the phone with me was not accommodating at all. I was charged $25 even though I was not told about this before. I asked if they could send me my medical records from my previous visits and only 1 was sent, the. receptionist wanted to text it to me which is highly unprofessional.

I was trying to find a new optometrist amongst a large selection. I was impressed with this office because they actually had a website, the website was organized and thorough and there was a great bio on each of the optometrists in the office. I was able to get an appointment within a couple of days. This was the best experience I've ever had with an Optometry Office and in getting my eyes tested. They take their time, they have great eyewear selection and they are not like pushy salesman. I plan on continuing to patronage this office for the foreseeable future and I highly recommend. Update: Dear Dr Kao et al: I can honestly say this is the first time I have ever picked up a pair of prescription eye glasses that were perfect. Your office has been gracious, accommodating and professional and I'm so happy to have found your practice. I can see so clearly! My family has been coming here for eye care for years. The doctors and optometrists are caring and thorough. The staff members are friendly and helpful. One time a family member had an urgent situation with her eye. The office staff got her a same-day appointment, and the doctor took care of her. It was a great relief! Another time my glasses were not made quite right, they sent them back to the factory and got it fixed in a week. They respond to patients needs in a caring way and resolve problems effectively. I highly recommend this optometry office!
