I feel the exam is very probing and details any and all effects of my eyes on the machines for different testing. Dr. Vanderhoff is amazing and keeps me comfortable as we proceed through the testing.

Didn’t leave a review. Supposed to be 2 hour outpatient eyelid surgery. Prepaid before surgery. The anesthesiologist Dr Choi used propanol and while asleep regurgitated liquid from stomach
which went into lungs. Had not eaten or drank anything for past 24 hours. Moved across street to
hospital where I was admitted and 4 bags of antibiotics administered via IV. Nearly died and was discharged the next day. Hospital bill $9,800 which I didn’t authorize and was a real surprise.

Having just moved to The Villages I didn't know who to go to to have my wife's and my eyes examined. Upon checking the internet I chose Hindsight based on others recommendations and boy am I glad I did. From the moment we walked in the door until we left we were treated like family. The staff and Doctor Russell were very professional and I would highly recommend this practice. What a great experience.

I’m writing this 6 hours after my procedure, so please bare with me. I have to say I really like this center! Staff are welcoming and polite, and try to do things in a timely manner. I was told that I would need to set aside a few hours to be there, which is what I expected. I believe I stayed at the center from 10am to 12:30pm. Staff were quick to cycle patients through the many steps before the procedure and make sure you understand what will be happening. As someone who has really bad anxiety, they most definitely calmed my nerves down. Going into the procedure was really scary for me, because of course no one likes their eyeballs being messed with. Dr. Ellis and his staff within the operating room were really patient with me and talked me through each step. The procedure took around 4 minutes in totality. Some people see better right away after the surgery, from what I’ve heard, but I noticed my vision worsened. Now that I’ve gotten home and I’ve slept I notice that my vision is slowly restoring, and the itchiness is gone. I definitely recommend using this facility if you are considering getting LASIK eye surgery. Thank you guys so much!! Even as I’m typing this I’m noticing my vision is getting better :).

Highly recommend Pearle Vision in Taylor. Dr.J went over everything in detail, and was very friendly. April and Nicole both helped me get checked in, out and pick glasses. Best experience I've had at the eye doctors. Thank you ladies!

Visit was quick and efficient. All exams were done expediently and with the utmost in professionalism. Dr Ward is an excellent ophthalmologist and explained my condition to me wonderfully, as well as presented a solution. I highly recommend this practice.

Second time getting my eye exam here. 1st time went great [2014], this time not so much. I made an appointment online which was very easy. I was sent 3 confirmation emails, to which i confirmed each time. They also called me 4 or 5 times to confirm the appointment or ask me to change the time b/c someone else had an eye emergency. I couldn't change the time b/c of my work schedule. I came to the office and was seen pretty quickly, until the tech put eye drops in my eyes to dilate them without even telling/asking me. The the tech said i would have to wait approx 15 minutes for my eyes to dilate, so i went to pick out my new frames. I was not seen for over an hour! They put my in an exam room and I could here Dr. Semel chatting away with another patient the entire time in the room next door. Checking my eyes took less than 30 seconds, but she was talking to another patient about the quality of her tears for 45 minutes. You would think she could just come and check my eyes and then go back to the patient. My appointment was at 4pm and i didn't leave the office until well after 6pm.
As if that wasn't enough, they told me that my glasses would be ready in about a week, but i didn't get them for close to a month! They kept telling my that it was the way my insurance was set up... come to find out that someone broke my lenses while making them and they had to start all over.
Finally went to pick up my glasses and asked for a copy of my prescription and was told that Dr. Semel was too busy to sign it. The clerk said she would email it to me... i have yet to receive it.
wont be going here next time!

I had such an awesome experience with this optometrist in the past but as 2026 it is completely different and my opinion changed. They are completely careless about patients.
In March I tried to scheduled an appointment they were so full that I had to schedule for April 11th. Then, they called me to cancel and reschedule for April 25th... got canceled again and I was told in a message you are welcome to schedule an appointment "elsewhere"... that is how much they care about their patients. After waiting a month and understanding that it had to be reschedule... not going back here ever and hope I save some time to someone.
