I have yet to get service from this place but besides the fact that you have to call at 9 o’clock in the morning on Mondays to schedule an appointment that usually is going to be three weeks out I had an appointment for my daughter said and I forgot the actual date of her appointment so when I called to get the date again they said that I had missed the appointment which is true but they said that they called me twice in the day of the appointment and left voicemails which they didn’t as they were saying that I was literally looking in my voicemail and received no missed calls staff seems to be too laid-back as in previous reviews I doubt that they did a follow up call to confirm my appointment

ive went here for a long time its cheap cause my insurance covers almost all of it but the choices are superrr bland and honestly i only go here cause of my insurance if not i would definitely go somewhere else

Cannot even call to make an appointment!
I finally went in person and was told to call Mondays and Tuesdays at 8:30am. I called at the time and could not get through at all.
I tried again after going in person. The guy in a lab coat who talked to me and was short and unhelpful. He kept repeating “call at 8:30” and would not answer any other questions. So I had to guess out loud and tried to get a yes or no.
I also asked if he can recommend any other optometrists, but he was quick to shut that down by being rude. No help at all.
If anyone was referred here from NAHC, don’t bother unless you have all the time in the world to waste. I’m going to dig into my savings and ira to get my eyes checked and get a prescription. Screw this!

Heard good things about the optometrist, but the frames and customer service experience were terrible. i have never been charged as much or felt more neglected by an optometrist’s office.
For some reason there are always 4 receptionists working, but only one or two relatively inexperienced frame technicians, and I was told i should expect to wait 20 minutes to have my frames adjusted when i came to pick them up.

I had a fantastic experience at Rockridge Optical. Dr Sabatini took excellent care of me for both glasses and contact lens exams. He recommended a new brand of contacts I’d never heard of and I love them! He also took the time to answer all my questions about age-related eye changes. The only drawback is that I couldn’t find frames I liked, despite the optician working with me to find something. She was super helpful, validated my indecision, and said that if I found frames elsewhere they could probably order them for me. Thanks!

The eyewear selection is awful, unless you’re older than 45. I did have a pleasant eye exam; but other than that this place was meh. If you’re looking for big modern glasses. Don’t go here.

Love this place. I have been coming for almost 10 years and bring my daughter as well. Dr. Thornton is thorough with his exam and listens well to any concerns. The amazing women who work the front office are knowledgeable and helpful. They've never steered me wrong on a pair of glasses. I order my contacts from here as well and it's always been super smooth. They do such a good job explaining my benefits and helping me get the most out of them. Will definitely continue to come here. Highly recommend.

I was very impressed with the thoroughness of the exam. Dr. Thornton and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Dr. Thornton himself was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything to me. When it came time to select frames, they were patient and helpful, providing feedback and helping me find a great pair of glasses that fit my style and budget. I highly recommend Dr. Thornton and his team to anyone needing an optometrist. Gracias, Dr. Aaron.

Dr. Thornton is thorough, enthusiastic about his work, and very personable. He and the staff were professional and attentive and made the whole process a breeze. I’m happy my eyecare is in such great hands and would highly recommend this practice.

horrible place to go. they never answer their phone. horrible! if you have another place you can go, just go, because you will waste your time the eye physician of the east bay....

Save time and go somewhere else. They are understaffed, booked out months in advance, and should not be accepting new patients. You are left to figure this out on your own after repeated long hold times on the phone that can end in you being automatically hung up on, even after briefly speaking with a human being. My optometrist referred me to them, but I got tired of trying to get through.
