I highly recommend Dr. Pathak! In a saturated market like Southern California, it can be difficult to find an ophthalmology practice that you feel will have your best interest at heart. That is why I am extremely glad to have been referred by a friend to Dr. Pathak, as he was kind, compassionate, and very thorough from the start. He went over my records and discussed the pros/cons of the different refractive surgery options according to my specific needs. He did not try to pressure me into any treatment, as his main focus during my consultation was to ensure that I was properly educated on the options that were best suited for me. The Long Beach community is lucky to have an honest and passionate provider like Dr. Pathak!

A good experience from start to finish, including making the appointment. The staff was friendly and professional. The doctor had a pleasant demeanor, explained things well, listened well and asked if I had questions. The space and equipment seemed squeaky clean and current. There were a wide range of frames (price and style) to choose from. The staff helped me understand what my insurance covered and take advantage of the in-store discount they offered. They showed me add-on options without making me feel pressured to purchase.

Awesome service and prices. I love my new glasses. I got two pairs and they were still cheaper than the one pair from my old optometrist’s office.

So unexpectedly a great experience with excellent results! Clinic is clean, experienced and has friendly staff that explains every step they are involved in. Dieter Herzog was fabulous, kind and an excellent surgeon. I had cataract removal and lens implants in both eyes with ZERO pain and fabulous results.

The surgeries went well. Experienced no pain or discomfort of any kind. Very pleased with the outcome so far. Dr. Hertzog is an exceptional surgeon, with an ability to communicate with the patients. Highly recommend.

Dr. Dieter Hertzog is a wonderful doctor! Less than six months ago, I was basically blind in one eye at a fairly young age with a cataract. I decided to go to Dr. Hertzog based on reviews, his qualifications and the location as well. The whole process from getting exams, testing, mapping the eye and the operation only took several weeks. I was nervous but he and his staff put me at ease and I trusted him to choose a great IOL, the toric lens. The surgery was a breeze, it was a very interesting process. The result was 20/20 vision in that eye and I am so grateful to the doctor! I have gotten back to reading, playing the piano, and enjoying life. Thanks to everyone at Hertzog eye care, they make you feel important, comfortable and it's a very nice office too. (Heidi W.)

By far, I recieved excellent customer service. Both the receptionist and Optometrist were very professional, polite, courteous. I felt like they really cared about my vision needs. I was treated with respect and friendliness. Thank you for such a calm smooth easy-going environment!

I by chance was looking for some safety glasses for work. Found this gem on Google maps. From the moment I stepped inside the place was greeted by a very friendly and cute young lady Elvia. Had my eye exam, picked out my new pair of glasses and less than a week they arrived. The Dr and staff were friendly, knowledgeable and pleasant. I recommend this location, great staff, selection and knowledgeable.

Worst experience. I went in right before Christmas to get my glasses. Didn’t want to put a huge down payment on my glasses because, again, right before Christmas. They told me my insurance “wouldn’t cover most of the cost of my glasses” which was strange because I have great insurance. So I ended up having to pay a huge deposit. They call me 20 mins later saying that they made a mistake and my insurance actually DOES cover the glasses so I actually didn’t have to pay that huge deposit so when the glasses are ready I won’t have to pay anything. (Are you freaking kidding me!?) over a month and a half goes by and they still don’t have my glasses. Finally today I call and they say they’re there snd they left me a voicemail. (No they never did) and they just tried to tell me that my insurance never covered the glasses and that I’ll have to pay more to pick them up. Worst experience ever.
