Since February, I've been trying to get both my lens and contacts prescriptions correctly ordered with this office. The initial contacts during a trial worked well, but they ordered a different prescription instead even though I requested the trial version during my check-in appointment.When I finally used these new contacts, I immediately noticed that the left eye was blurry and did not match the previous trial pair I was using. When I called for them to be fixed in May, the staff talked to said she'd increase the prescription instead to see if that would work even though I asked to go back to the trial one had no issuel. When I went in today on 6/13, the prescription given to me was the one she decided on as she did not listen when I asked her to go back to the trial. They also claimed I needed to repay for a new set even though they initially messed up on my prescription. I had to ask the first staff I talked due during this trip three different times on why they were doing this before they stopped insisting that I repay for a new year set. When I went to put on this new set, I realized they had not actually listened to my request to go back to the trial pair that worked, but instead gave me the one the staff over the phone had decided on. I spent almost 7 minutes trying to find the first staff member again as she had left right away when I was trying on this pair. When she came back, she told me the pair I had were the trial set. When I looked a the prescription, I realized they were the same as the ones that were ordered incorrectly. They then argued that the pair they gave me were the ones I asked for. I asked for my prescription and paperwork information so that I can get another doctor's opinion, and she refused. I asked again and she continued to refuse. After nearly 30 minutes of asking with the original staff bringing in another staff member to talk with me instead, I was finally told they'd only give me my paperwork if I scheduled a new appointment. I then told them that it was illegal to withhold patient documents like this. They came back after another 5 minutes, then pretended that they never withheld my information or told me I had to schedule with them. They then told me I had to sign a waiver before they would give me my documents, all the while denying that they tried to withhold them beforehand. The staff that told me to rescheduled left during this time, leaving me with the original staff member. They tried to have me sign a waiver without explaining why for another 5 minutes before finally waiving and giving me my patient information. Altogether, it has taken almost 4 months to properly correct my prescription with them, and almost an hour in their office needing to ask multiple times for my prescription and paperwork documents. Throughout the entire time they denied me my information, denied that they denied it, and did not help me correct my prescription. They only excuse? "This has never happened here."

I was in the office for my annual check up this week and it is always the best experience possible!!! There has never been a long wait and everyone from the front office to the back office is most friendly and very cordial. I always have the opportunity to ask all of my questions and, furthermore, someone ALWAYS listens and responds promptly-always outstanding customer service! You can't help but to think that you are their first priority in every way!!! I know that Beachside Optometry has only an actual 5-Star rating, but they will always get an 11-Star service and professional rating from me!! Thank you Dr. G for your phenomenal
team of all professionals-I for one appreciate you all and urge anyone to make an appointment today to experience only the best of outstanding service possible!!!

I can't say enough good things about this optometrist's practice. From start to finish, my experience was outstanding. The appointment scheduling was easy, and I was seen promptly. The optometrist was thorough and explained every step of the eye examination process. They took the time to answer all my questions and provided excellent recommendations for contact lenses. I left feeling confident and well taken care of.

Amazing experience.
I came with outside prescription which was incorrect.
Dr. Daniel Lieu, Brittany and Tim were taking care of me to fix the problem, to change the lenses in my new glasses. I am impressed how fast, nice and comfortable was the service and their help.
The entire team and each person that I had interaction with was very polite and helpful.
Highly recommended!
And also the store has an amazing deal -60% for some frames and lenses.

Brittany is a fabulous employee! I went in today chose a new pair of glasses. She was patient and kind . She is a great asset to this company. The store is clean and conveniently set up. I would recommend the Huntington Beach store is wonderful.

This has been the best experience I have had for finding and fitting frames since I moved to Orange County. This time it was for my 7 yr old son who was completely emotional about getting his first pair of glasses. Brittany was so patient with him even though we were there for over two hours. She answered all of his questions, helped him navigate his concerns, and ultimately (finally) found a pair of frames he was happy about. We entered with tears and fears and left with complete joy!

The doctor was very helpful and personable. The front desk staff was good as well. The Asian guy that was trying to get me to buy glasses was not. Not personable at all. I sat in front of him waiting for the next steps of buying glasses and he sat there at first reading something and didn’t even acknowledge I was there. I am clearly disabled, so what does he do, he hit me with a price well over $500, then $398, and finally at almost $200. This is all with insurance. I’m pretty sure those guys are probably paid commissions on what they sell but to act like the $525 was the way I needed to go like I didn’t have a choice. Luckily my wife told me to walk away because that’s crazy. My wife got glasses from a different place and spent only $80. So unfortunately I will not be going back.

They always provide stellar service from the thorough exams and making sure we are educated and understand the process/diagnosis every step of the way, to providing details on the latest technologies to improve our eye health...we will not go anywhere else. Surf City Optometry is part of our family!

I had a wonderful experience at Surf City. I was a walk-in for glasses and Steven was extremely helpful, patient, and offered a lot of insight to my choices and insurance benefits. He made the experience seamless, I normally hate getting glasses because of how much time it takes but it was an overall smooth process. Thanks Steven!
