Been a long time patient but moved out of the area. When I decided to go back to contacts, he was the only one to get me the right brand and prescription. I had gone to two others with multiple frustrating visits. While he may seem a bit strict he is open and listens; he will talk about options and recommend what's best for you. Worth mentioning that I also travel around 130 miles for his consultations.

Love this place, they always go above and beyond - never rushing my appointment and they really honestly care about their patients and eye health. I have had appointments with both Dr. Barritt and his assisting staff - and both always tell it to me like it is. You only get one pair of eyes, and I am grateful they care enough to make sure I am using the correct contacts, eyedrops, etc. I have also gotten referrals to Opthamologist to further check what could have been an issue. The staff is prompt, friendly, organized and very easy to work with. The Office Manager at the front reception area is extremely helpful and I always feel welcomed.

Stern is a very nice way of defining the Dr., he was extremely rude to me and my son this saturday 1/9/20. I called to make an appointment and since I didn't receive a call back I stopped by to check in that I had given them the right number. The lady was very busy so I wanted to double check. The Dr. then stepped in and gave her a hard time about why I was there, then he said he could not help me so I said ok. Then he asked where do we normally go. I said the other costo, which he responded with "go there but just so you know they are booked for 3 to 4 weeks," then he asked to see our purchase history at costco and saw that I bought several boxes but then the Dr. accused my son of not using the contacts properly and that he wouldn't have that as a patient. Then he said we will make room for him but if we didn't come back he will make sure to charge me. I was so upset when I left that I just called back and canceled the appointment. Nobody should be treated that way. Costco offers excellent customer service so I don't understand why this Dr. has this opportunity to work with Costco clients.

National City location.Front desk staff to back office staff and the Drs. All treated me with respect and awesome attitude. Don't let this place slide if you have questions of your eyes. All my questions were answered and understood everything. The guy who does the testings and pictures he was awesome and thorough and his Injection into the vein skills are awesome didn’t feel a thing. He uses a lot of equipment his skills are on point. Definitely coming back, referring my family and friends. This place is just good. Hard to find places like this.

Explained to the lady on the phone I have cornea issues and I need urgent care , she didn't mention that they don't cover that surgery and made me book a visit to come see. Doctor , the doctor offered surgery but it has to be out of bucket , and he claimed the insurance won't cover this , not sure why they didn't mention that over the phone before they made come to the clinic and pay the fees for the visit which wasn't covered by the insurance too as they claimed , also asked for the check up images which was done by the doctor at the clinic but they told me I have to pay extra fees for that , not sure why they made me come to the clinic for ? Just to charge me money and leave me with no solution. I don't recommend this place to anyone looking for advanced eye care this place is just a fancy clean clinic.

Dr. R is really good. My 98yr old mother has been with him for about 12 yrs. She hasn't seen him for a couple of years. However, we have been getting refills for every 3-6 months. They recently converted to a new system. We called for another refill with the understanding of the need to make an apptmt and the prescription person still denied the prescription . She needs to go to an apptmt first. .. wow... so now my 98 yr old mother has to wait for an apptmt. Ridiculous. So I am giving a low review NOT for the DR. but for the person in charge of prescriptions. Guess she doesn't have an elderly person to take care of.

Nice, friendly and easy to talk to. Very thorough exam and Knowledgeable. He took his time with me and answered all issues with my eye medical issues. Able to fit me in in such a short notice (walk in) which I really appreciate.

Dr. Steele is one of the most personable and down to earth doctors I have encountered. Dr. Steele is very thorough and provides such great care to myself and my family.

Dr. Steele is one of the best people I’ve met in my lifetime, and I’ve been around a Lot of great people. He is such a pleasure to visit and lights up the room with his kindness and personality. I leave my appointments with him with a smile each time.
