The full eye exams, the clinician professionalism and appointment scheduling were all very satisfactory and appreciated. I would give 4.5 stars to that experience. However, I can’t say the same about the staff at the eyewear department. There were unnecessary rudeness and condescension in rushing customer out of Minor Hall upon picking up the eyewear. What a shame. Not seeking VIP services or corporate friendliness, but visible impatience and unprovoked verbal slights are simply not good service practices even on campus.

I am an employee at UC Berkeley, and figured that this would be a convenient place to get a new pair of glasses, just minutes from my office on campus, and that the clinic would be accustomed to working with the vision portion of University's health insurance plans.
I thought wrong! It took me months to get an appointment. Upon finally getting one, I was asked to provide vision insurance information over the phone. Upon explaining that I was an employee and reading said insurance information straight out of the UCB's employee web portal, I was told that it couldn't be correct, and that unless I could come up with some other plan information they expected, my employee insurance would be declined and I would have to pay out of pocket. I re-explained what I was seeing in the employee portal, and that I would cancel my appointment if my employee insurance couldn't be accepted, at which point I was abruptly told that, in that case, my appointment was cancelled. Just another typical day dealing with UC administrative nonsense. My advice: Save yourself a headache, and go anywhere else. I should have months ago.

Dr. Kouchouk has a state of the art facility! I was impressed from the moment I walked in & was greeted by Mariams wonderful smile, she quickly took all of my information an had me take a seat in the lobby.
I have been to other well established eye institutes & have not ever felt this welcomed or comfortable. From the moment I was greeted to the time I left I knew I was in good hands. In the past it seemed like there was only a few advanced eye care options if any in town, now y'all have choices.
Now keep in mind, the Luxor eye care Institute is brand new so they don't have a great selection of magazines in the lobby to read while you wait however that is okay because I would not had had time to read any since I was brought back very quickly by the optical lab technician Kevin.
He explained to me what each test was, I felt very comfortable with these procedures, afterwards he led me to one of the many extremely clean examination rooms and then returned rather quickly with Dr Kouchouk for a more intense examination of my eyes.
If you need advance eye health care this is the place to be. You will be treated as a human being not a number on a chart!
Their compassion and empathy for what y'all are going through and their genuine desire to help you have a better quality of life is apparent in all that they do.
Please do your eyes a favor and go in and get an examine, they will thank you for it later.
My hope is that this review will help you make a wise and informed decision when it comes to your eye care health.

I have been here twice. Matt Q. is excellent. You can ask him any question about glasses, and he will you give a straight and fair answer. He won't try to upcharge or sell you something to make a quick dollar. No, he works with you to ensure you are satisfied when you leave the story. GO HERE. You're blind if you read this and still choose not to go here. Don't be a fool. If ye has eyes, then behold a good business.

I normally don’t leave reviews, but felt very compelled to write one on this business.
I have been going to Ken’s Optical for years and always receiving the best customer service possible. Here recently my glasses became destroyed and had to recently go in to order a new pair FAST because I felt like I was blind. I went in and didn’t even mention the urgency of needing them. Matt (seems like he’s been there forever) recognized right away the need and urgency for it just by looking at my prescription. He put them in the expedite orders and they arrived 2 days later. Thanks Matt!!!! The only reason I can write this now is due to the fact I can see now. Thank you again Matt for all your help. From helping picking out the right frames, getting them expedited, and getting them fitted. You’re awesome man. So again thank you!

I have been coming to Ken's optical since 2007. Ken's optical is the best place in town for all your safety glasses. Matt has great customer service and is very helpful. I have recommended my Dad, son, and brother to Ken's optical and now they are frequent customers.

As far as Dr Allen goes I give him a 5 star rating. As far as the staff goes Sydney is awesome, very helpful & knowledgeable about the different insurances & product info goes. However I had to work with Juillian when I went to pick out my frames and I was filled with so much anxiety because of him. We were there 2½ hours almost 3. I had previously picked out 3 frames while there for my exam. So that was not the issue. He is easily distracted and has a hard time focusing on the task at hand. If I had to rate my review on just him I would not be returning to Target Optical until he is gone. As it is since he could not complete my order I now have to wait until tomorrow when Sydney is in to finish my order. I have plenty of other things to do with my time other than running back & forth because this person couldn't complete my order. I spend a lot of money out of pocket and expect better service than he could provide. My primary pair of glasses was close to $500 out of pocket and I still have to get a second pair and my contacts. I was not a happy camper.

This location on Rosedale was amazing. Everyone was so friendly and personable from the welcoming assistant who greeted us and did pre exam to the doctor. They made my daughter feel comfortable and were so knowledgeable.

My eye exam with Dr. Allen went quickly and seamlessly, as usual. He is very kind and professional. I’ll continue to schedule my appointments with him and I’ll also continue to refer to others.
All the staff were super helpful, warm and welcoming. Hannah Hillis, the frontline associate, was so incredibly helpful and supportive in my experience there. She aided me in gathering multiple frame options to select from. I so appreciate her for that.
You should definitely schedule an appointment! They don’t disappoint! 🤗♥️
