Sidney had great customer service. The manager, La'Shawna, helped me look at glasses while Sidney was helping my son pick him some glasses. Everyone at this location was really nice and patient.

SCAM! They blatantly lie about the insurance they accept. They say yes, we accept that insurance - so we scheduled an appointment. You go, they perform the exam then tell you, you have to PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR EXAM AND GLASSES! How unprofessional & uncourteous to customers. I am sure corporate knows of this scam...anything to get customers through the door! It is NOT OK to waste anyone's time and not have genuine concern for people with eyecare issues. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I had a 5:00PM appointment and received a phone call at 5:00 on the dot. I let them know I would be 5 minutes late due to traffic. She said they have a FIVE MINUTE grace period and if I wasn’t there at 5:05 then they would not be able to see me and I would have to reschedule. I walked in at exactly 5:05 and was told I would need to reschedule. I asked to speak with the doctor and was told the doctor was still with a patient and they they would need to confirm with her if they could see me due to the DOCTOR having an appointment that was running longer than expected. Imagine that, something also unpredictable like traffic. How does that make any sense? If I am there WAITING on the DOCTOR to finish to an appointment, what does me being FIVE minutes late have to do with anything? I waited until 5:34 to be told I would need to reschedule even though I was there within their “grace period” all because a prior appointment ran over and the doctor needed to leave. This is EXTREMELY unprofessional. They gave the impression they did not want to work later than anticipated and go home. I get it but I don’t. You have a job to do. Do your job? I am now asked to take more time out of another work day due an error on their end. Not mine. Absolutely not. If I make an appointment and I’m there within your “grace period”, you honor the appointment regardless. That’s called doing your JOB. If they would have called me earlier before I left work needing to reschedule, it wouldn’t be a big deal. But I was denied my appointment due to their lack of professionalism and time management. Keep up the hard work y’all.

I had an appointment but couldn't make it because of my work schedule but I called to reschedule the appointment only for them to tell me they were still going to charge $25, how can you cancel an appointment on the weekend, a bunch of bs

Dr. Young is excellent! We first took our daughter here when she was 2. We weren't sure where to go so our Pediatrician recommended Dr. Young. Dr. Young left our appointment to look up a case study because she was in a gray area of possibly needing glasses, but potentially growing out of the nearsightedness. From the study, we all agree that it would be best to try glasses and if she absolutely wouldn't wear them, then we would just recheck in a few months. Our daughter loves her glasses and took to them immediately. Glasses were the right decision and something we can address early before she attends school. She is great about keeping them on! We bought them from the optical place at 20/20 and had them bend the ear pieces so that they fit comfortably around her ear instead of on top of them. I also go to Dr. Young. I have Graves so keeping a close watch on my eyes is essential. I was very worried about eye bulging, but he calmed me down and said it isn't an issue right now and may never be since my disease is being managed. Whew!

My mom went on several occasions and he was not very thorough at all. She went on 3 different occasions and he still was unable to get to the root of the issue. We are now seeing someone at UAB. I'd rather make that 1 1/2 drive then to go back to him.

Dr. Young was an eye consult for me at the hospital. He totally understood my issues and was very helpful to me. He also was very instrumental in helping me get assistance with specialty doctors quicker and it saved my life. I thank God for him!

I had a 5 week lead time on appointment--arrived at 3:10 for a 3:20 appointment. I did preliminary with nurse- history, general eye exam, numb, air test, dilated eyes.. I finally gave up and left at 5:00 p.m. with 2 people in front of me to see doctor. Poorly managed customer flow.

Unless you desperately need an eye doc, avoid this group at all costs. I have about 12 years in healthcare leadership. Half of that has been in more senior administrative positions within very large hospital systems (17K+ full time employees). I’ve onboarded and rehabbed clinics this size. Additionally, I worked along side Ophthalmologists for ~5 years. In my opinion, this practice is circling the drain. Technology across the board appears to be largely a solid decade behind. That’s in both the exam rooms and administration. EVERYTHING is paper. Receipts showing true settling of balances cannot be provided. Records have to be photocopied, which leaves excess room for errors in interpretation of handwriting. It’s a train wreck approaching catastrophe. The front office staff are mostly nice, however, interactions with providers remind me of some of the worst providers I’ve ever encountered in both patient interactions and general ego. The place is saturated with provider god complex and financial mismanagement. Don’t even get me started on the HIPPA violations. I encountered at least a dozen before I stopped counting and that was before being pulled back for an appointment, which took an hour and was treated like it was normal. Meaning, zero apology and laughing the wait time off. I have no idea how this place is still operating. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Additionally, if you have a bad experience, then report them to your insurance company. Places like this continue operating the way they do because patients and employees say NOTHING.
Every Review metters. See what people say about clinics.
