She was the only reason I went to Visionworks. The whole company and all their employees have been terrible but they had one good Doctor. Now she's not there anymore. Wish I had known. I'd travel an hour to see her. Dr Crowley is thorough and knowledgeable. She also knows how to talk to people. I'm sad cause I don't have an eye doctor I can trust or cares about me.

Emma was wonderful!! I had been referred there by my ophthalmologist. I had Lasix in the past and my left eye was under corrected, and I recently had a stroke that took out my vision in my right eye. So trying on glasses was very difficult because I couldn’t see good enough to even pick out a pair. Emma was wonderful. She picked out several perfect options for me and help me decide among them and Explain the differences in all the lenses. She was a bright spot in this whole vision nightmare I’ve been going through. Thank you Emma and additionally, the prices at Costco were amazing. I got two pair of glasses, one with progressive lenses for only $275!!

You Do Not Have to Have A Costco Card for the Vision Center!!!!
Bring your prescription, pick your frames. The best part other than it being the cheapest place to get high-quality and designer glasses is, the ALWAYS FREE scratch-resistant coating, and non-glare, progressive, lenses, and if you prefer, transition lenses. Or just get a pair of prescription sunglasses! 2 pair costs less than one pair at any other eye center. No Hidden fees, for real! You'll be happy walking out with much more money saved than anywhere else, guaranteed! YOU'LL NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE AGAIN.

I do not recommend. The tech's have no college degree, they mismarked my glasses, I told her that she marked too high, she refused to change, said it needed to be that way per prescription. Needless to say, I got my glasses 3 weeks later to show her she marked too high. She said no refunds, nor redos.
It cost me over $270. I will never recommend Costco for eyewear again. No education, just self taught tech's.

Dr. Hawk is very thorough and friendly. He’s good at explaining issues in a way you can understand.

I’m an optician at LensCrafters. I referred my granddaughter to Dr. Bray. I have referred many pediatric patients to Dr. Bray. Not anymore. Not without the following warning: Independence Family Eye Care hard pressured my daughter-in-law into buying my granddaughter’s first pair of glasses for over $600 for a 5 year old! You can get your prescription from Dr. Bray and take it somewhere else that’s cheaper. They sold her a UV coating on top of a transition lens, which already blocks UV light. They sold her stuff she didn’t need. It seems like they took advantage of someone who didn’t know anything about buying glasses. I’m very disappointed this happened.

Should be zero stars, but Google doesn't allow it. After Dr. Cibis retired, Dr. Bray took over. I was told I had macular degeneration and all kinds of other issues. Got new glasses and my vision was far worse. Tried to go back to get my glasses checked, but got nothing but hassles. Went to a better eye doctor and discovered that everything Dr. Bray said was wrong. No macular degeneration, and my glasses were completely wrong for my vision issues. If you like your eye sight, and want to see, go see a properly educated and talented doctor. Avoid this place like the plague.

Very poor experience after years of no issues at this 40 Highway Independence, MO location. Made appointment online week in advance, filled out all their online stuff, was ready and waiting 5 minutes ahead of appointment. Waited 5 minutes past appointment time (no big deal), just to be told they only do remote appointments for online schedulers (despite having an available doc on site and not with customer) and it would take hours to get a prescription, and informed me it may take multiple sessions if it doesnt "take". Staff was polite, but seems like they just don't want my business, despite being a cash paying customer.
Now going to schedule with their competitor.

I truly wish a zero was an option. I’ve been coming to Americas Best for probably 3 years or so across states and different locations in the city. This location is the worst by a long shot. The people working at the front desk are incredibly rude. I had one appointment for an exam and ended up walking in and canceling it because of the horrible attitude and communication I received. I unfortunately had to go back in today to pick up my prescription to take it somewhere else and somehow had an even worse experience?? Both times I’ve been in, the woman working at the front desk with a slick back bun and old fashion raccoon eyeliner is one of the most miserable people I’ve ever come across. Tight lipped and wildly inconvenienced by any human within a 10 mile radius of her. PLEASE spend the extra time in the car to go to another location.

Made an appointment last week online same day. Get there to find out it’s remote but still an office. No big deal. Get back into the room. Have very little direction from the girl administering the pre-eye test and couldn’t pass it to save my life so they advised I needed to see a real doctor, which was not on staff so I had to reschedule. Rescheduled for today. Waited 45 minutes to be seen. Get out of my exam and I’m told to wait on the bench for the ladies who handle the ordering of glasses or contact lenses. There’s a line and I can tell so I asked the lady at the front desk if I don’t have time to wait can I call over the phone to order my contacts? She advises I cannot because I need to pay for my exam. Why she could not handle that I’m not sure, but advised I needed to sit on the bench and wait. I waited an additional 30 minutes while one person was helped in that timeframe. Mind you they’re are still several people in front of me to be seen. In this timeframe, there is a customer who is repeatedly blowing up their phone line. Because they keep putting him on hold and he is Irate about it. And rather than ignoring the line and helping the growing line of people, waiting to order contacts and glasses, and the growing line of people waiting to check in, they continue answering this phone the 25 times he calls in and putting him on hold. Back to back to back. Instead of tending to the people that are in their face to be seen and 30 minutes one person was helped. And at that point I have been in their office for an hour and a half and I got up and I walked out. Oh yes, without paying for my exam. I’m sure they’ll find a way to bill me. Do better America’s Best. Stop over booking your appointments. And understaffing your employees. I won’t be back and I won’t recommend this place to anybody.
