I have been going to Harden Valley Optical for many years. I have always felt very comfortable. The staff has been very nice and helpful. The doctors are very personable and so nice. They have helped me to maintain my eye health over the years informing me of what’s going on in regards to my vision as I’m getting older. The staff has been understanding when I’ve not had lots of money to spend and they have not been overbearing or pushy with add-ons and increased expenses over the years which I appreciate. They have interacted with an understanding attitude as life happens. I appreciate that the building itself is well-maintained and always looks nice and clean when I go there. They are always helpful with any questions that I may have. Even with the increased traffic around the area I plan to continue going there for my yearly eye exams.

I called to get date I saw him. First girl says I’ve never been there. YES! It was prob 2019 I saw. 2nd lady says they got some system called “Athena” in 2021 that shows I’ve never been there. But when they go back to 2019, it shows my records, but nothing else. I said, “Oh yes, I was there & he did all kinds of exams & tests”. She said she couldn’t find it, but MAYBE my records were pulled & packed away since it’s been “SO LONG” since I’ve been there… 2019??? REALLY? With Covid for almost a whole year? So I said, let me look if I have a prescription for glasses in MY files. Yep, 6/20/2019. HE wrote the prescription. “That’s funny, we have no record of you being here”. 😡. I said, well, THAT just confirms why I WON’T be coming back to you. She said ok & hung up.

I'm giving 2 stars because the staff was friendly BUT when I did my eye exam on Tuesday, the doctor put the drops in my eyes and never gave me the black sun glasses. I had no idea I needed them until I spoke to my sister and when I dropped my glasses at a newtown eye doctor to get my new lenses the lady that worked there told me the same thing I was with my baby and I couldn't see anything the whole drive from waterbury to newtown. I thought it was normal to have blurry vision. Before I left she said use my glasses . So I used my actual glasses and tried my sunglasses, nothing worked. I.feel like this was very irresponsible for a doctor. And it gets me very mad that she put me in that situation especially with my baby in the car. She took me early that day because she had to be somewhere so I think she was in a rush. I will.never go to this place again.

DO NOT COME HERE. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. They ripped me off. They did NOT use my insurance. Though Shahana is the BEST. Plus Dr. Suzanne Wiley is the BEST. The rest are literally WORTHLESS 😭💔. It doesn't even deserve that STAR.

Well I couldn't even get as far as an appointment. Left me on hold for over 10 minutes. Never came back. At least to say, I am working on getting you taken care nope. 10 minutes I sat in total silence. They must have enough business and decided they didn't need mine.

I had a significant eye problem recently, and Dr. Derzay played a crucial role in resolving it. His expertise and prompt care were impressive, making it a very positive experience. I can't recommend Dr. Derzay enough – he and his friendly, knowledgeable staff truly made a difference in my eye health. Thank you!

Highly recommended! If you want someone to listen to your concerns and take them to heart, this is the place for you. Dr. Johnson answered and addressed all my questions and concerns while providing high quality care. A great lasik surgeon with a big heart!!

Dr. Susan L. Daniel is absolutely THE BEST!!! Our son who is diagnosed with autism is a tough patient, but Dr. Daniel makes the appropriate accommodations for him to have a successful appointment. He’s been seeing her for about 10 years now and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Thank you Dr. Daniel for ALWAYS going above & beyond for your patients. We adore you

The office is neat, clean, and well run. The staff are very professional, yet friendly. They add the personal touch. Highly recommended!
