Sure you can get cheaper glasses and lenses elsewhere but this place does a great job and gets them done right. After years of not liking to wear my glasses (and just not being able to see) Bob has gotten me hooked and now I wear them all the time. What a difference good lenses that are the right ones makes! Good customer service and not part of a big chain so you are supporting local small business when you buy here. He has even done lenses for frames that were purchased elsewhere without any issues. Love this place!

I went to get my 17 yr old son’s contacts because they were listed in network for my vsp insurance. 1. During the exam visit, I was never asked if we wanted the retina scan vs the traditional procedure which requires eye dilation. Copay was just $29 but they really should ask the parent prior. 2. We were sold a 1 year supply of contacts for $760, with insurance covering $200, which they ordered. And given a rebate for a $200 gift card. I wasn’t really happy about the gift card; would have much preferred flat out cash rebate. When I went to the manufacturer’s website to get the rebate, I was prompted for the prescription, which was not provided by Ruslana. She just gave me an invoice. I decided to call and cancel the order the next business day as I was seeing I could get the same prescription from Costco or online for a total of $212.00- over $500 less than Big City. I tried calling them the very next business day to cancel the order and to get them to email me his prescription. They refused to do either and consistently would hang up on me. Finally, I called another big city in Chicago and got them to email me the prescription. They also told me I could return the contacts as long as they weren’t opened. (Something the Bannockburn office failed to mention). The cherry on top off all this was when I came to the store to return the contacts. At first the optician/manager said he couldn’t. I asked who could and showed him my invoice and showed him the box was unopened. He reluctantly did the refund. When he gave me the receipt, I noticed that the tax of $12.60 wasn’t refunded. He said that I don’t get that back. I asked so you’ve collected tax on an item that you returned so I guess you keep it? He just smiled. I said I guess $13 and my Time and effort for all this was my lesson learned not to go back to these guys. Apologies for the long-windedness of this review. Hopefully this will help others. I wished I’d seen something like this before I decided to go here.

I visited Dr. Velotta for a full eye examination and cataract evaluation. This was my first visit to the Eye Clinic, and I was greatly impressed by the friendly and professional atmosphere and competence and efficiency of the four staff members with whom I interacted. Most importantly, Dr. Velotta strikes the difficult balance of being very friendly while also radiating high levels of skill and competence. The visit was the most thorough and professional series of eye tests and examinations that I have ever received in my many decades of visiting eye care offices. Dr. Velotta's charm and skilled professionalism are comforting and confidence building, and her ability to transmit these traits and their importance to her staff are quite impressive and refreshing.

Dr. Velotta was fantastic! She listened patiently, was very caring, knowledgeable, efficient and thorough. I can’t say enough great things about her. Her staff was very kind and professional as well. I would highly recommend this practice/Dr. Velotta for eye care.

Great doctor, young and very good in what she does. Very warm and caring. Cannot recommend her high enough. The relatively new office, 5 years or so, quite busy, but you can still see the Dr relatively soon. Not for too long though with the quality of care Dr Velotta provides, she will be booked months in advance very soon like the rest of them.

Today was my first time visiting this clinic for my 2 kids (5 and 7 years old) and the moment I entered I was notified of the out of pocket charges even though I had a good vision insurance. Also, I wouldn’t recommend this clinic for kids at all. The doctor didn’t even try to examine my 5 year old and straight away recommended to the other pediatric doctor as he wasn’t staying still. Maybe we were the last patient for the day and she was in hurry to leave. But overall very disappointed with the visit as there were hidden charges and doctor was not kid friendly. I regret that I came here and didn’t go to Gustafson eye care where I usually go.

What a lovely place! My husband and I felt very comfortable going here! Best service, very professional customer experience, play place for the kid while the parents doing their check ups!
