I don't recommend it. He is the WORST doctor in Great Neck. I had to wait 2 hours to be served, because he was late. He spent his time yelling at his employees and getting files from other patients while they treated me. he is unprofessional. his office too small to have multiple employees and patients in the same room.

Dr. Pinkhasova was great! She really seemed to care. From important things like double vision to trivial things like picking out glasses, she made me feel like I was important and like she had all the time in the world to help me. I never felt so cared for by a doctor!

Frustration with long wait times at previous ophthalmologists' offices is what led me to Dr. Kaplan ten years ago. They all appeared to operate the same way, seemingly making appointments with several patients for the same exact time. That meant crowded waiting rooms and wait times that very often were over an hour long, only to be seen by the doctor for no more than a few minutes before being pushed out the door to make room for the next patient on the production line. When I could take it no longer, I asked my PCP to recommend some ophthalmologists and that is how I found Dr. Kaplan. And what a breath of fresh air she has been! Her office staff is friendly, helpful and quite competent in what they do and they all seem to care about each and every patient not just as patients but as people. Wait times are rarely more than ten or fifteen minutes and I have never had any trouble making appointments. Generally, I will schedule appointments far enough in advance so as to get the exact date and time I want, but I also have had some emergencies -- one even which occurred late in the afternoon -- and I have always been able to get last minute, same-day appointments for them. Dr. Kaplan is a Glaucoma specialist and she has been caring for my eyes, keeping the pressure well-controlled. She is personable and takes the time to explain things. I have felt completely comfortable asking her questions and discussing my eye care and have never felt rushed. Dr. Kaplan runs an exceptional practice. She has expertly controlled my Glaucoma and managed my eye health these past ten years and, to boot, she has an office staff that is second to none.

Dr Kaplan is the most loving, kind, caring doctor I’ve ever dealt with. My mother suffers from multiple conditions that effect her vision. Dr. Kaplan took the time to coordinate her extremely complex condition with 4 other doctors on multiple occasions. Her skill, competence and professionalism are beyond measure. She is a fantastic diagnostician. Dr Kaplan is the whole package. Even her staff is wonderful: kind, helpful and efficient. She is a true blessing. I recommend her unreservedly.

New patient as a referral from my eye doctor...got to my appointment 15 minutes early, with the understanding that my eyes will be dilated and would be there for approximately 2.5 hours. I assumed that would be from the start of my appointment. I didn't get into the waiting room until 9:10 and was left there until 930, while others who came in after me, got called in. I asked at that time how much longer it would be, that's when they told me they were running behind "a bit". Waited another 10-15 minutes. now it's 9:45am and still not even called at all. What is the point of having an appointment if you aren't going to stick to it? After a brief unhelpful conversation again with the lady who checked me in, I wound up canceling my appointment and requesting a refund for my copay. I'll go find another retina specialist that actually cares about appointments.
