Can’t recommend this place enough ! The staff was super friendly and the optometrist was very kind and thorough during my eye exam. Prices were reasonable too. On top of that, they were not pushy with sales at all; they let me walk out hassle-free with my prescription.

Both times I've been here I had a wonderful experience. Dr. Nye and his staff are always so professional and polite. The location is spotless and quiet. Since my first appointment, I literally haven't gone anywhere else, for my eye care. And to be honest, I don't think I ever will.

I have always had a pleasant experience with Specs for less . I
have been a customer for years now.The employees are always very helpful and friendly. The eye examination was extremely thorough and I felt he really cared. The employee helping me pick my frames even went above and beyond calling other locations to see if they had what I wanted. With that said I highly recommend all locations having recently visited the one on Arthur Kill Rd for a broken frame they quickly put my lenses in new frame in minutes.

The one star review is about the scheduling practice. We have scheduled our appointment last month, moved our vacation days to accommodate the doctor’s busy schedule. I received a phone call today, politely apologizing and cancelling our appointment, because the doctor will be out of town. Rescheduling for earlier was not an option, rescheduling for next month- they only had one day available which wasn’t good for us, unfortunately. Basically, nothing was available until October. If you are a busy family like us, please save your time and don’t rely on this office, as they may let you down. They have so many customers, they are simply not worried about losing a few…

My daughter has been going to the office for the past 2 years. In February two days before my daughter’s appointment I called to see if I can make my other daughter an appointment. It was then that they told me that they were going to call me to cancel my appointment because my daughters doctor left. They then tell
Me that they can’t reschedule her right now because they aren’t scheduling new appointments because they are being taken over by northwell and I should call back the end of march. So I’m like its 2 days before no on quests to have me yet, now your telling me call back the end of march and when I do that you will give me an appointment 6 months from now. Today I finally get through to the office and their next available is November (that would make it 14 months before my daughters eyes are examine)and there is nothing they can do to other then that to accommodate my daughter. I spoke to a manager whose response was the people that were here before were supposed to contact the patients and reschedule them to sooner appointment’s. I requested my daughters records and will be leaving their practice. Mind you I am a Northwell employee

My daughter’s doctor left the practice in September, but the office did not bother telling us until two weeks before her appointment on February 22nd. This is not a reasonable time to notify a patient that the doctor caring for them has left. Most states, by law, require notification within 30 days. To top it off, they can’t accommodate my daughter with another doctor. They said to call back at the end of March and maybe they will have something by then. We waited six months for this appointment. They had five months to notify us, and now they cannot care for my daughter within a reasonable amount of time. This is called patient abandonment and I will be filing a complaint with the NY medical board.

This place is the absolute worst! The Dr treats patients with little to no respect. She docks the pay of her employees All of the time!! She also tries to embarrass her employees in front of patients. She blames employees for her mistakes such as malpractices so she won’t look bad. The truth is shes really old and needs to retire instead of trying to ruin the lives of new up and coming medical assistants and registered nurses. She’s also a millionaire and she uses that as leverage if it was ever to be taken into legal actions knowing her employees wouldn’t stand a chance. I’m not an employee here but I know a few past and present. 0/10 stars for sure

My experience has been very different. Don't believe all the bad reviews. My husband and I have been seeing Dr Rosenthal for over 10 years and have been extremely happy. The office is clean the staff is extremely friendly. The doctor is very passionate and very sensitive to your feelings. Can you have a wait time? Yes, like any other good doctor worth waiting for. We never experienced rudeness and if I did I would have voiced it immediately. I'd recommend her to anybody any time. We love her like family!

If I could rate a zero I would, trust me. She is a horrible woman! Period! She doesn’t care about the patient she only cares about bringing you back for numerous appointments to collect the co pay. She’s rude and the way she talks to her front end/receptionists and staff in general in front of patients is completely unprofessional. She has an attitude all the time. I would say run the other way and run fast. She is just flat out a complete misery. Do not go to her. You will sit and wait in the waiting room for at least an hour just for a 15 min appointment and her bed side manners and personality alone is worst than ever. Money is all she cares about, not you! You’ve been warned ahead of time. Feel bad for the people that have to work with her on a daily basis. My prayers go out to them.

For
Eyes and optics
The staff in the store were more resourceful and helpful of finding the right pattern of vision level and therefore they were able to prescribe me the right glasses that is covered by my insurance.
