A bit difficult to find, you can get there from Parnassus and go down a few floors or from Irving through the parking garage entrance and take the elevator up

This has been a location that I was brought to as a child. Not the exact same room but the exact same staff just the rooms moved. Since it is the only place I’ve gone to, it’s where I’ve decided to take my children for the past 5 years. I just received a phone call for my sons appointment for tomorrow and at the end of the call the receptionist mentioned to not forget to bring his vaccination card. My son is not vaccinated and will not be vaccinated for medical reasons. When I mentioned that my son is not vaccinated her response was “ ok I will cancel the appointment.”
It felt so dismissive and rude. I asked, “Even if it is not mandated for his age group?” He is 8 years old, it is highly suggested but not mandatory. Again, he also is medically excused which i didn’t even have a chance to mention before she repeated I will cancel the appointment bye.
There has been no notification that it is mandatory for my kids to be vaccinated to attend their appointment. I will be transferring both of my kids out of this location. It feels like a loss because this is my childhood facility but the way the receptionist handled the situation was enough for me to change my mind.
I understand everyone worry and concerns with Covid, I am not against the vaccine as I am too vaccinated but my child is severely allergic and I will not risk his life for a vaccination.

I got back into town and had several messages from this place to confirm I was coming to my appointment, I was in a place where reception wasn't ti great and the lady on the voice-mail wasn't really all that pleasant. I called today to confirm my appointment and she was rude like she was so bothered that I was finally returning her call. Later I decided I didn't want to go to my appointment because if reception was this rude what would the staff be like. When I called and told her she like out a huff like it was a problem and was short with me on the phone and then hung up. This place needs to replace the receptionist. She's not the one I booked with who was so friendly and pleasant. I will be finding somewhere else to go to. Given the reviews it seems it may be the same receptionist giving problems.

Place will not accept kids without Covid vaccinations. A few months ago, they had appointments without kids needing Covid vaccinations.
***Even if they are fully immunized per State requirements*** they now have to have it--explained by the receptionist.
In fact, there was never a mention of anyone needing the Covid vaccination from the last appointment.
Adults are understandable, but there is no mandate for 5-6 year olds.
This use to be a staple in the Mission, Las Portales always housed businesses to represent the people, now this.

After making my co payments and insurance payments they came up with a different bill. I visited 2 times in person just to make sure the billing part is completed then called and spoke 3 times with multiple people they confirmed that I owe nothing. After a year they are still harassing me about this ghost bill, I spoke to their attorney asked that bill to be send but even the attorney's phone not exist anymore. I have not received any bills yet. DO NOT ever go there.

If no stars were an option I’d definitely pick that. Inconceivable incompetence. Paid a bill months ago. They continued sending invoices anyway. They had zero interest in helping me fix their mistake. Would not return voicemails. Would not return calls or emails from their third party billing company. They appeared to enjoy making me feel like I was responsible for their incompetence.
Not sure what has happened to this place. But dysfunctional would be an understatement. Absolutely avoid at all costs!

Dr. Kevin Lee is young YET extremely bright and knowledgeable. He was spot on on the eye disease I contacted. Well, I went to see my regular doctor for eye infection. She then sent me to see an ophthalmologist. Ended up she was an … More

Great overall experience quite good until seeing the eye doctor. Was able to get a same day appt as it was an urgent appt. Everyone was very nice, checked in and had to wait approx 20 minute before getting called in by the first lady who asked us the general questions of what happened and why are we here, very kind and knew how to speak cantonese. Next was asked to go outside to wait for another doctor. She was very very nice, had asked us necessary questions, and gave us quality instructions as to what her next procedures were. Finally, we were left in another room, had to wait appox another 20-25 minutes before seeing DR. KEVIN LEE. Found his profile online and it states, "Languages: Chinese (Fluent)" YEAH RIGHT. During the whole 2 minute conversation, he only prescribed us the needed medication. Aside from that, I told him about problems that my dad was having however DR. KEVIN LEE persisted that we wait until we make another appt and wait another time to talk to him about this problem. EXCUSE ME?! I had already made an appt to see the doctor to discuss this problem and he insists that we need to come in AGAIN?! And on top of that, he ended our conversation without asking my dad if he had any other questions/concerns regarding the medication or his eye. Doctors like DR. KEVIN LEE clearly is one of those doctors that only does this job because he is in it for the money and not for heart and desire of patient care. Oh yeah, one more thing, this could be a biased assumption but he is a total douchebag who clearly believes that he is better than everyone else. I talked to my dad after and he states that he spoke fluent cantonese with him last time so just want to let the public know that this doctor is a very bipolar and his words are hard to believe.
Do I recommend this office? Yes.
Do I recommend this Doctor? What do you think?

I wouldn’t go anywhere else but UCSF for complex eye surgery; however, their patient follow-up care, access and communication are horrendous. I have spent the past 2 ½ years dealing with the cornea, retina and glaucoma services and have found the ophthalmologists to be exceptional; however, the department operations are incompetent and frustrating.
All of the ophthalmologists are overbooked and appointments are rushed, wait times for appointments and in the clinics are interminable, and access is cumbersome and difficult. They record chart notes that are never discussed with the patient. If the goal was to get me to leave UCSF, they succeeded.
Following a brilliant eye surgery, my surgeon referred me to a glaucoma specialist, Dr. Ou, for evaluation and treatment of a complication. Just prior to a follow-up appointment, for which I had waited 6 months, Dr. Ou transferred me to an optometrist who was not only inexperienced but also neither a glaucoma specialist nor an ophthalmologist. The optometrist determined that I needed to be referred back to Dr. Ou! Since I am still in the evaluation and testing stage, I need consistent, reliable and experienced follow-up; UCSF has forced me to look elsewhere for care.

My strongest complaint is that the phone system is not practical for patients with low/poor vision.
It is near impossible to respond using just the keypad. The response options should allow for voice response as well as keypad. My Mom has canceled appointments accidentally because she can't see which key she is pressing.
Every Review metters. See what people say about clinics.
