Fantastic doctor and office. I was skeptical about all the 5 star reviews but I understand now. They always pick up the phone quickly and answer calls. Everyone that I interacted with was great. I can see why their office is so busy. We were blessed to get an emergency appointment and Dr Esson was such a huge help. You can tell he knows his stuff and cares about his patients. My dog finally got the help he needed. He had surgery earlier today and already seems to be in less pain despite his stitches. My only regret is that I didn't find this doctor sooner. We will be lifelong patients and supporters for this wonderful office. Update: It's been about 2 weeks since surgery and my dog got his stitches out. He is doing fantastic. My dog is an entirely new dog since his surgery. He is playful, energetic and active again. He seems much happier. The medication Dr. Esson provided is also helping to save his other eye and relieve his discomfort. During his checkup today, they reported that his eye pressure has gone back down normal in only 2 weeks! Thank you so much, Dr. Esson and staff!! My family bought my dog an adorable pirate costume for Christmas, so please enjoy a pic of our happy pirate boy.

The front office staff is beyond AMAZING (Sandra & Karina, I'm talking about you)! They are so kind, caring, helpful, friendly & understanding. Sarah (checks the insurance) was so patient in dealing with my crazy insurance & the medical staff is top notch & again, kind, caring & friendly. This was the best experience in dealing with a new providers office. We will recommend them to everyone!

I have been to many optometrist before but when I first came into this office it was a complete different experience! My eye and contact exam was great I knew exactly what my prescription was and I tried anti glare coating for the first time with the frame I choose and it’s great you can tell on the quality when you first put on your glasses! Front desk is great as well they help you with choosing your frame and lenses.

I booked the appointment online and everything proceeded on time and appropriately which isn't always the case with online bookings. Dr Houghton was amazing, delightful to chat with he was sweet, smart, thorough, and even entertained my 5-year-old daughter! He tested her eyes with the letterboard and told her how great her vision was! She was absolutely delighted. The staff, both office and the store, were amazingly sweet and also helped entertain my bouncy daughter. No one was rude everyone was a pleasure. I was attended to quickly and above my expectations

Truly the best eye Dr in the area. He saved my site. Very nice staff too.

This place is HORRIBLE!! The wait time is ridiculous. If you have an appointment please don’t have anything else planned for your day. They give you an appointment time just to make you wait an additional hour and 15 minutes before being called. Please bring a snack, pillow, and blanket. The appointment time was 1245 pm. I arrived at 1215pm. It’s now 215 and I’m just being called. Schedule at your own risk!!! Needless to say, you have to pay for parking because it is on the campus of GBMC hospital.

I have been going here for years. Outstanding staff and an outstanding doctor. He never rushes you through an appointment. You don't sit for hours waiting to be seen. I've never had a billing issue. If you need an excellent eye doctor, this is the man.

Find another eye exam! This guy's terrible and he will not fix his mistakes or provide compensation. Tried working with him after he wasted my time and money on a bad exam. It was just further waste of my time. He offered for me to give him more money to fix his mistake. Unreal! Unwilling to use proper channels to remedy the situation. The ego!

Dr. Patel and his team are fantastic. I've been going for a decade upon moving here from DC. Services are professional and staff is courteous. No pressure to buy in house or add on extras. Always accommodating and gives best advice on insurance coverage- ie what meets patients needs. Patel remembers patients and treats you like family.

This was my first time at this office and I was very pleased. The staff was friendly and efficient and explained every test for my comfort. The dr was pleasant and through and made me feel comfortable. I was in and out quickly and felt like I received excellent care. All in all I was very happy with the whole experience which is rare in a lot of medical situations today.

Glaucoma Associates of Illinois. Listen folks, firstly, they need to hire competent, empathic, compassionate humans to staff their office. The treatment my elderly mother recieved was just so heinous, cold and unfeeling it made me realize that the doctors are the ones taking the hippocratic oath NOT the people they employ. Unfortunatly, it directly reflects negitively upon the establishment and the residing physicians. I wouldn't take an ailing cockroach to this place after the personal treatment my family recieved. Stop allowing local temp agencies to fill your roster with chaff and look to fill those roles with more quality individuals. Beware!
