Worst experience, 1. Rescheduled appointment by mistake, another patient wanted to reschedule. 2 Charged $20.00 for a test that a must at this office to get eye exam, not told to me until arrival. 3. Go to pickup glasses, supposed to be bifocals and were not, and couldn't see far vision worst that 2yr old lenses. Blamed on lens quality, nothing they could do. They are going to cancel the whole order, we will see. 4. Could not use old frames. Went to different optometrist, test not required, Can use my own frame if i want.

They have a new doctor from Illinois I believe their welcome sign said and she’s amazing. I had stopped going there before covid cause it felt kinda not caring and a staff girl was so rude and now there’s a new one too who didn’t even want to help during the frame process and looked at you like if you were interrupting her gossip time, but aside from her this new doctor made you feel like you were taken serious and well cared for I will be recommending and coming back with my family for her services. And hopefully the staff gets it together so everyone sees how wonderful this new doctor is and lasts here in the AV.

I normally don’t do ratings but this is the worst optometrist I’ve ever been to . The staff is so rude . They give attitude for no reason . My experience was that I went in to get a referral for my grandma cataract surgery and I didn’t have an appointment and the lady straight up told me well you should have gotten it when the doctor offered it to you now you are gonna have to wait for a while . And I just stayed quiet but I thought to myself Like don’t get me wrong I understand the doctor is busy but you didn’t have to talk to me like that . And in my opinion really bad service and they rushed my grandma out of the room like kind of pushing her and she’s an 87 year old lady

Fantastic doctor was as good last time when he did my lasik and took me in for a urgent situation and as good as before

Dr. Spencer is caring, intelligent and a perfectionist. He is the doctor you want to see if you need cataract surgery! He has his own clinic in Camarillo so you don’t need to go to a hospital. My husband and I both had our eyes done there.

Dr. Spenser has been treating my eyes for glaucoma and general health for several years. He is a great communicator and reliable doctor.

Best lens doctor around

One day I was driving home from work and when I looked in my side view mirror could see nothing. A dark cloud had obscured my vision. I drove to my Ophtamologist who immediately suggested California Retina in Oxnard. Dr. Castellarin ordered rush surgery in Santa Barbara for the next morning. Three hours of surgery reattached the torn and detached retina. It was a long recovery process, but I could easily have lost sight in that eye. One caveat, the office staff in Oxnard has messed up my schedule on more than one occasion, so always double check your appts. before going in.

Dr. Nasir is the best doctor to be under treatment for concerning treatment of Retina problems. He has been my doctor for over 5 years and I cannot say enough about him. He is very through in his treatment and DISCUSIONS regarding your care of AMD WET OR DRY. He gives the most honest advice that a patient needs to hear for the caring of there eyesight. His decisions can be trusted in the care of your eyesight to avoid blindness. California Retina Specialist have several locations in Santa Barbara and Ventura County. I am so thankful I am in excellent hands and treatment for the care of my eye by Dr. NASIR. To be blind would be the worst affliction.

Dr Michel and his team are true professionals. I drove out from Palm springs, which is about 3 hours away and I will tell you, it was worth every second. I had pterygium removal surgery and it could not have gone any smoother. Setting up the appointment was seem less and his staff was instrumental in helping me with that. Dr Michel was very kind and calming throughout the entire process. He and his team are voted as the best in California and for good reason.

Dr Franz Michel removed my scar tissue (Pterygium Growth) in September 2012; the surgery was on my left eye which had already had the procedure by a different doctor in May 2006. The 2006 experience was horrible, but the experience with Dr Michel and his staff was great! He did a whole lot and he always took time to explain; never in a rush! He was more professional, and he is up to date with latest technologies and procedures. My recovery was quick and only with minor discomfort. If needed, I will definitely come back to see Dr. Michel and will recommend him wholeheartedly.
