New customer at this great neighborhood optician. Both staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Seems like they have all the latest technology. Most importantly, I left seeing better than when I arrived. They improved my contact lens prescription significantly. Definitely recommend.

During Hurricane Florence, my wife and I were forced to evacute from our North Carolina home and were unable to visit our Retinologist to receive scheduled injection treatments for Macular Degeneration. Dr. Gross and staff were immediately responsive and understanding of our health risk and provided the professional urgent services needed to prevent potential additional macular damage. In these days of Corporate takeover of medical practices, it was a delight to find a highly skilled physician and staff that have patient care as a priority.

Dr. Poe's Sound Beach Optiks is a world-class facility with the latest technology, very competent staff, and a vast selection of designer frames. Dr. Poe is both professional and incredibly nice. He had a sample of contacts in my prescription in-stock, and also ordered a second sample free-of-charge. I give my highest recommendation to this facility and hope to be a patient for many years to come.

Glasses are okay, my only problem is that they break easily, and were very thick. Contacts here are bad because it had been over 90 days since I had my last checkup with them and they never even gave me a new prescription checkup for contacts, only basics like the fitting, training, and measurements, but like you cant just guess a patients prescription using the old one from 5 months ago. Finally, they decided to finalize the contacts prescription when I told them I still couldn’t see out of my left eye after getting a ton of different contacts with different PWR ; same astigmatism, but they didn’t want to even check if my astigmatism was incorrect. I could see clearly out of my left eye when the contact moved in a specific position meaning the prescription power was correct, and the astigmatism was not correcting my vision correctly. Honestly just dissapointing because they can’t even do a simple checkup right!

Dr. Brown is a great Doctor. He always treats us with the kindest regard and patiently answers any and all questions. Their is often a very long wait, but it is situational and not the fault of the Doctors.

I've gone in for a few appointments now, and each time I've been treated awesome. I had a contacts fitting appointment and had never worn them before. The staff was so patient with me learning how to put them in, giving pointers and helping when able even when I was taking a very long time to learn. I couldn't have felt more comfortable during the entire procedure. Dr. Whipple is extremely nice and didn't treat me like a time burden, which is rare for doctors these days. Always greeted cheerfully and the environment is welcoming. For once I don't dread having to go see a doctor.

10/14/23 I wanted to relate my experience today of Visionworks at the Firewheel Town center in Garland, TX. The Manager, Crystal, and her two co-workers: Amanda and Fatima, were very kind and professional people to me. I had visited their store previously a year ago and the manager, Crystal was very courteous and kind in taking down all of my information that year in 2022. When I went by their store today, Crystal was very happy to see me again and to my astonishment, she had kept all of my information in her computer database from last year in 2022!! Due to her exceptional organizational skills and care, I was able to get two pairs of glasses from her today. She was also able to get me all of the discounts that I was owed on the current promotions that VisionWorks is offering now to their customers. I was very humbled at how nice I was treated today by Crystal, Amanda, and Fatima. They really made me feel like a valued customer of theirs and I could tell they truly cared about me being able to get my new pair of glasses so I could see better. As long as Crystal, Amanda, and Fatima are working at Visionworks, I intend to always be a customer of Visionworks for the rest of my life.
