As another reviewer mentioned, the doctor and technicians were kind and very likeable.
The billing and costs were terrible. I paid a co-pay when I walked in for my appointment. I did not receive a new prescription when leaving, and upon calling back to get that sorted out I was billed again. When I went back into the office to pick it up, I was billed for a third time.
Total costs, with a good health insurance plan, came out to over $130 for one routine eye exam for glasses and contacts.

I spent 15 minutes on hold yesterday (March 3, 2022) with no one getting back to me. Today, I spent another 15 minutes on hold. Just as I was about to hang up, someone finally answered and bluntly told me that my insurance would not be accepted. With customer service like this, I do not see how Dr. McCoy has stayed in business.

Wow I wish I found this place years ago! I was concerned after my recent cornea surgery, that I had been left worse off than before the surgery. It took a poor fitting and a referral to Dr. Brantley for me to receive the best care I have had with this condition since first being diagnosed in 2009. Dr. Brantley took the time to first, care for my injury the previous contact gave me and then begin the next phase of the process which was fitting and making me whole again! He was thorough and made me feel comfortable. He’s easy to speak with and made me feel a thousand times better when I left his office. I cannot say enough words of the care Dr. Brantley provides and the way he restored faith back into patient care for me. I truly do appreciate him beyond words.Thank you.

Dr. Brantley is hands-down the finest eye doctor I’ve been to. I visited 7 doctors around the country and he is the first to actually diagnose my eyesight issues and provide effective treatment. He is personable and 100% engaged with his patients. Highly recommended!

After years of issues with worsening ghosting and double vision and no luck correcting with traditional soft lenses, I was referred to Dr. Brantley, who immediately determined that I had keratoconus and started the process to fit me with custom scleral lenses to correct my issues with irregular corneas and external astigmatism. While I experienced immediate improvement, he continued to fine tune the fit and acuity on each eye over the course of many follow-up visits. Dr. Brantley was able to diagnose that I had an extremely rare case of internal astigmatism and design a solution for that issue as well. My vision is now the best it has been in over 20 years. The Alabama Cornea Care Center is the exact opposite of a corporate eye care experience. Dr. Brantley has taken the time and care to understand my very unique needs and I can now get back to enjoying computer and music tasks with much more ease.

Not a happy camper.
It took me a while to get my annual appointment. I waited over a month. That is not a big deal and it is expected in todays world. The problem is that I get there 10 minutes before my appointment and they tell me i need a new Tricare referral and can't see me without it! Now they tell me? A little lacking. They actually suggested that I call my Doctors office and try and get one and keep my appointment. Not my Doctors office fault why should I ask them to jump through hoops and try and get the referral? I believe they should have notified me in advance of their need for this. I would have had plenty of time to get it. A waste of mine and their time. The medical care I received from this office has always been good. Unfortunately I had to get an appointment with a different Doctor and business as I can't stand the incompetency on the business side of things.

The folks at Laser Eye Center our amazing! I had gone in originally on a free consultation considering laser eye surgery. I was in quickly but after a couple of theri routine tests found I had pretty bad dry eye so they sent me home with a prescription and new appointment. At my second appointment still my eyes were in bad shape and was sent home with another script and new instructions. At the third visit it was, unfortunately, determined that my eyes are too damaged for the procedure and was given a couple different scripts and suggestions. Not one time did these amazing people ask for any kind of payment. My next appointment was scheduled and I was very lucky indeed to have been introduced to Dr. Tracy Swartz. This lady is super cool, intelligent and funny! She has gone out of her way to do whatever it takes to repair the mess that are my eyes and I couldn't appreciate her any more! The staff is always extremely friendly and helpful! I would recommend Laser Eye Center 100%. You will not find better care anywhere!

Both the doctor and his assistant were very honest and kind. My wife's surgery came out perfect! No impossible promises were made. She went from bottle-bottom glasses and $1000 contacts to store-bought reading glasses. Dr. Hubickey was recommended to us by several friends who are all also very happy with his work.

Dr. Hubickey gave me the most thorough eye exam I've ever had. He knows the eye so well and is careful in his study of them. He turns over every rock and knows if there is a problem, what it is, and has a plan of action. Your eyes are in excellent hands with this doctor. Wait may be a little long but well worth it. WARNING: The eye glass store within the practice is very expensive- so make sure to ask questions about pricing before you commit.

I just hit the 3 month mark after getting LASEK done. I waited to write this so I could review both the procedure and my experience with Dr Hubickey and his team. He is thorough with his assessment and recommends which procedure is better for you based on YOU. Not rushed, calm demeanor. Helped develop LASEK for the military, I met at least 2 staff at the eye center who had him perform on them and were satisfied a year out. I cannot recommend him enough and wish I had done this sooner. April and Caitlyn were also professional and pleasant to work with. The Eye center is clean, smooth workflow and never more than a 20 min wait.
LASEK - I had -6, -6 for several years and wore glasses for 25 years prior. Your first visit is a detailed assessment about 3 hours long, determines if you are a candidate. Second visit was surgery, on a Thursday. Took 30 min, pretty smooth, you need someone to drive you. Third visit is the day after, then at one week, one month and 3 months. Im now scheduled for my next at 9 months. 1st several days were uncomfortable, you need steroids and other drops. I waited a week to drive, could have driven at 4 or 5 days. It only gets better if you take precautions as recommended. The ability to see without glasses is marvelous!
Hope this helps, I know I spent months researching and was *very* ambivalent. I recommend Lasek with Dr Hubickey and his team with no hesitation!
