The eye exam was great and everything went well with that. I was told then that my insurance didn’t cover my frames even though my health insurance app AND LensCrafters says it did. So I had to go somewhere else for glasses. I was told that sometimes they don’t get updated. Oh okay.

I’ve been meaning to write this. I have been a customer here for years and typically only visit the location on the Blvd. I was lucky to have stopped by this location, to have been met with a familiar face named Sofia. The service she provided was superb. Of course I was in because my son broke his glasses. She had full knowledge of the inventory and knew there was an exact pair in the back. She was able to recruit the other associate to assist me while she greeted other customers. This is certainly my new favorite location as the selection and customer service is the best!

I've been going to Sterling Optical for several years now to get my glasses and prescription filled and had been happy with their services up until now. I went to them back on December 27, 2022 for an eye exam and new glasses and it's been over three weeks now and counting and I still have not received them. I called the day before yesterday and spoke to Emily and was told that part of the order was in but the other part, was not. She said that she would call them to see what the status of them were and then call me back and I have heard nothing from her since. They have reduced business hours at this location and I don't know if they are having a labor shortage or what, but as a customer I feel that efficient service and open and dedicated communication goes a long way to keeping customers that you do business with. I was also told when I called to make that appointment with them that I wanted to be billed and have it on my insurance for the 2022 calendar year so if I need to get another prescription and glasses that would be covered for 2023 that there would be no problem. So far I'm thinking now that what I was told will not come to pass. Call me hopeful but very disappointed ....

The selection is fair, but the staff is outstanding. My father and I dealt with a gentleman named Constantine, and he was the perfect employee. He was honest with his comments about the glasses we were trying on, he made very thoughtful suggestions, and answered any questions we had. It was easy to tell how knowledable and important he was to sterling, but the rest of the staff was great to. Would definitely recommend!

My husband and I bought 2 Living Social Deals a few months ago for BUFFALO'S BEST each deal being for eyeglasses worth $200 for $39. Total $78. GOOD deal!! Two weeks ago we went to Buffalo's Best to use our deals. Presented our certificates to the owner and he said pick any of the frames on these boards over here. We had hundreds to choose from, a great selection! Yay!! I'm getting purple glasses...my FAV color! :) Sat down with our choice frames and our perscriptions. $816 for 2 pair of no line bi focals. Minus the $400 Living Social certificates. Equals $416 out of pocket ($494 if you include the price of the Living Social deals). This past Saturday we got a Western NY local merchants coupon booklet that comes in the mail every few months. In this booklet of coupons is a coupon for $229 for complete no line bi focals from Buffalo's Best, in this coupon it also lists REGULAR price $319.99 (so for 2 pair it'd be $640) WHOA!!! Wait a minute! We're paying $816 for 2 pair. Our loss of $179!!!! Did the owner bump up the price when he knew we had the Living Social deals?! hmmmmm So we went in today to pick up our glasses. THe optician who waited on us was great and he said he'd put a call into the owner and we should expect to hear from him.

This place is a total joke. DO NOT BUY THE GROUPON OR AMAZON LOCAL DEAL. They advertise $200 to spend on eyewear- we ended up spending an additional $100 for a simple pair of glasses for my 6 year old. Complete clip joint with unfriendly and arrogant staff and shoddy goods. Steer clear of BBO.

Total rip off!!! Went here a few months back because I purchased a Groupon for $200 toward a complete pair of eyeglasses. There are no prices on anything and the creepy, unfriendly salesman said he would "total up everything for me once I was ready." I ended up picking out a GENERIC pair of wire framed glasses. After tallying everything up and deducting my $200 coupon, my grand total was $389...without an eye exam!! That means that a generic pair of glasses would have cost $589 if I didn't have a coupon???!!! I find that hard to believe. I really liked the glasses and had already purchased the Groupon, so stupid me went along with it. He refused to itemize my bill and just said that my glasses would be ready in 7-10 days. Finally, THREE WEEKS later my glasses arrived. The real kicker is that I went shopping with my husband yesterday for his glasses (somewhere else of course), and saw my EXACT FRAMES FOR $99...and they weren't even on sale! Uugh, do I feel stupid. :(

Dr Leonard and her staff were friendly and professional. I took my 85 yr old Dad there and we can’t say enough about our whole experience from start to finish. Eye exam, recommendation of an excellent surgeon for cataracts, along with his new prescription for glasses , and follow up. I would definitely recommend her.
