Have been seeing great Dr. Bern for over 18 years way before I became Senior Citizen, the best eye care anywhere in the world is here at his office in San Mateo, CA. Great care and great attention by him and all his stuff all the time.

Fantastic experience here. The front office staff/scheduling staff were great, as were the rest. The doctor was fantastic, very thorough and willing to take her time. And they were able to get me in at the last minute for my emergency visit. Six stars.

I've been going to Dr Lai for many years now and I recently lost my Gas Permeable contact lens. I was going on a trip and emailed Eyeworks, he ordered me a new lens and gave me some temporary soft lenses as an emergency pair. The kindness and service is unbeatable!

I've been going here for over 20 years. I'd rate the doctors a 5 and the overall experience a 2: The doctors are great. I have worked with Dr. Quon and Dr. MacDonald for many years and love working with them both. I'd rate the doctors a 5 star which is why I do keep coming back. The overall experience here is not great and I'd rate the experience a 2. My visits usually can take close to two hours for a regular exam as they space out the different components. And afternoon appointments can be worse when they're backed up. When I arrived for my last visit, the receptionist who checked me in told me upon arrival that they no longer take my insurance (even thought I was there 6 months prior and they accepted it). I asked why they didn't let me know before I arrived and she didn't know. She said the visit would be $280 and they'd try billing the insurance as a courtesy, but the tests are additional and she wasn't sure how much. So learning upon arrival for my appointment that it'll cost me possibly hundreds of dollars is not a great experience. I cancelled the additional tests and kept just the basic exam. I would have emailed the office manager directly with my feedback, but there's no way to contact the office other than by phone according to the website.

Dr. Donna Ortiz is a fantastic doctor! She is very knowledgeable, experienced and has a wonderful way to connect with her patients. We've been coming to see her for our child. She was very thorough and prescribed the treatment that has improved our child's condition significantly! We have seen several doctors before and were recommended to come see Dr. Ortiz and we are so grateful for her! Her support team was very good as well - from optometry techs to assistants. Thank you for all you do!

I have been a patient of Dr. Robert Filer for many years and have nothing but praise and gratitude for his expertise, his skill and his dedication to excellent patient care. I have noticed a small decline in customer service with perhaps one or 2 individuals but moreover I find the staff pleasant and accommodating and many times going out of their way to handle particular issues. Please bear in mind that if they were not capable and expert surgeons and ODs the office would not be as busy as it can get. Along with that, the population in this area has grown exponentially so that there are many seeking health services and we all need to be patient and remember to breathe and use our manners. In particular, medical offices and providers of health care services (pharmacies etc.) are often overwhelmed and the stress levels are high among these workers. Additionally I notice reviews that speak to events that may also have turned out such because of a patient's personal responsibility to follow up certain procedures by following protocols delivered by Docs. So I'm hesitant to blame or rely on reviews for health care.
