It's that time of year for my annual eye exam. Taraval Eye Care has a staff that is very professional, friendly, and helpful. Dr. Stacie Low is the best. I would highly recommend her if you are looking for an optometrist.

They do what they can..

They charge for services that are covered by your insurance, when they also make an in network claim so you can't get your money back. I tried explaining that the services are covered yet they refuse to not charge you for it, and gave a discount. Go here if you want to make donations.

Real full service eye care from people who make me feel like there's nothing they like more than serving me. The ophthalmologists explain everything and answer any and all questions. Contact lenses are available. For glasses, the frames they stock include a range of prices and styles, including extra durable for those prone to breaking them. Rocio is an expert at helping patients make the choice that is right for them. She is also amazingly skilled and meticulous in adjusting frames, and reviews every element of the cost with the patient (including what the insurance will pay, if you have it) before finalizing the order. Services and products include glaucoma testing, digital retinal image exam (avoids the need to dilate, for a fee, downtown location only). Lens options (which each have a price) include high density for very strong prescription, anti-reflect coating, polycarbonate (extra durable), polarized lenses for sunglasses, self-darkening lenses, coatings that filter harmful light from computer screens, and probably more I don't know about. They understand that you may want to order contact lenses online and provide the prescription for that. Years ago they even helped my British brother-in-law when he broke his frames while here on vacation. I know this sounds like an ad written by them, but it's not. My family has been going here for years and used almost every service I've mentioned.

Went there for my annual eye exam and retinal screening (which is covered by my insurance). But they declined to accept that, even after the insurance agents repeatedly told them it's covered for me. This clearly shows malpractice and incompetence for billing patients on what is already covered by insurance.

I had the worst time trying to schedule a new patient appointment with them. It took over 15 minutes for the lady to tell me there were no appointments available until January of next year. She was also just very rude and having side conversations while on the phone that didn’t seem to pertain to work at all. It was pretty weird.

Great service. Optometrist was Very thorough with the eye exam. She explained what she was doing and gave good information on eye health. Great assistance in choosing frames. We liked that the office was not crowded. Looks like they plan the number of patient appointments so it’s not packed. But keep in mind this is not a discount place.

Dr. Nguyen Wei is an excellent doctor. She stays up to date on her research to provide the best care possible. You can tell she is very focused on providing excellent patient care and the best quality outcome. She is meticulous and educates me on how to care for my eyes. I’ve been coming to her for a few years and her care is consistent. Her staff is always, friendly, prompt, and professional. They even adjusted the fit of my other glasses when I asked them to. I couldn’t ask for anything else in an optometrist. Their office is beautiful and clean as well. Highly recommend.

They are so kind and this is the best prescription I’ve ever had. Love them!!
