Dr. Sebag is an amazing Doctor. I did my due diligence and I had the choice to go any doctor in the world and I chose Dr. Sebag. He is the "go to" doctor for any issues you have with your eyes. I couldn't be happier with him.

Hello all. I have been with Dr. Hardy for quite a few years. He and his wife and his staff are the friendliest group and the most knowledgeable and likable professional in the business.

The treatment was great and the Doctors really know what they are doing!
Unfortunately for the receptionist, I found one to be rude and condescending. I would give this a 5 start review if she was more professional.

My husband's very first appointment as a new patient of Dr. Starr's was a fantastic first visit. We were completely satisfied and so grateful to have found a new doctor who is not only kind and caring, but who obviously knows and specializes in diseases of the eyes. Dr. Starr's assistant, Cindy, is amazing too. She is warm with a delightful personality and she really went above and beyond helping us to make this transition a smooth and easy one. Both my husband and I are very pleased knowing we have found a new doctor that we trust will take good care of us. For anyone looking for a new doctor (like we were), he comes very highly recommended.

I first visited Dr. Starr August 2022 as my vision had changed over the past few years. I previously had Lasik over 20 years ago and I wanted to find out what my options were.
During the first visit Dr. Starr was very honest and probably one of the most detail oriented people I have met (in a good way, it's my eyes)! The appointment went very smoothly and I wanted to get contacts, but due to my astigmatism that was not an option so it was either glasses or Lasik.
After thinking about it a week I decided to choose Lasik procedure again as I love to play sports and be in the water. I contacted him and we had another great conversation where he gave me all the details pre and post op and made me feel very comfortable for my October 2022 appointment.
On the morning of the surgery I arrived at the facility (in Newport Beach) which was brand new, very clean and had state of the art equipment. Dr. Starr double and triple checked everything before the procedure (once again, I was happy he was so detail oriented). Dr. Starr made me feel very comfortable and gave instructions during the surgery which made things go very smoothly. After the surgery I waited and relaxed so Dr. Starr could double check the surgery after a bit (can't remember how long).
It took about 3 hours from when I got there to when I left, but I was so pleased that he took his time and he is very calming as he goes through the procedure.
It took about a day after the surgery for my eyes to adjust as they were used to bad vision not good, but that was really not that big of a deal.
It is almost a year later now and I am still so pleased with the results. Thank you Dr. Starr!

My father went to Dr. Starr many years for his LASIK and he has had no issues ever since he got it done. Finally I decided it was time to get LASIK for myself and it was the greatest thing I have ever done. Dr. Starr is one of the few doctors that I have met who genuinely cares about their patients. He explained the process very throughly and ensured that my eyes were going to be better than ever after the procedure and he wasn't wrong. The clinic where the procedure was done was very clean and they even calibrated the machine right before the surgery. The procedure was very painless and quick. Dr. Starr saw me the same day after the surgery and my eyesight was better than it has ever been before, even with wearing contacts. He is very quick to respond when you have questions and he is always honest/upfront with you. I had recently gotten some water in my eye after the procedure and Dr. Starr saw me right away to make sure that everything was good. He truly does care about his patient's health and well-being, and he strives for and succeeds at reaching perfection. I would recommend him to anyone who is interested in LASIK.

VMR Institute
I’ve known Dr. Sebag and VMR institute for a long time because Dr. Sebag performed several surgeries for my both eyes to clear floaters.
I had serious complication after cataract surgery performed by another ophthalmologist early this year. Eye pressure elevated so high due to complication. I thought I was going to go blind and the pain was so unbearable at night. I was really scared. I was admitted to surgery center immediately right next day after my eye was evaluated and diagnosed. Dr. Sebag was not available for surgery at the time, so Dr. Gui performed the surgery.
My first impression of Dr. Gui was that he communicated with a patient very well in a professional and courteous manner. He gave me a lot of peace of mind before the surgery.
After several months later, the surgery turns out to be very successful without any side-effect or complication. My both eyes have clear 20/20 vision without floaters. They are in perfect condition.
I highly recommend VMR institute because it has the best doctors in greater Los Angeles area. They can perform very complicated eye surgeries that only a very few skilled doctors can perform.

My wife's first experience with VMR was in August of this year. She was told she needed surgery on her right eye due to something pulling on her retina.
When she first went to VMR, her appointment took 4 hours; in and out of offices for testing, and re-testing.
When she met with Doctor Gui,she was shocked to learn that she was among his first patients, something that you don't always like to hear when someone is going to do surgery on your eye.
After meeting doctor Gui, all her concerns were alleviated. While he was young, he was very professional, and demonstrated his ability that she felt was way beyond his age. He explained her circumstances, and set up her surgery date for September 2nd in Newport Beach.
Since that time she have several appointments with Dr. Gui, and each one continued to bolster her faith in him as a highly skilled professional.
Beyond his professional skill, he is a a very gentle man, with great ability to calm your concerns with not only his knowledge, but his demeanor, being very calm and having a quiet personality.
To say that Donna would recommend him and VMR, is an understatement!!

Best ophthalmologist specializing in floaters
I had a vitrectomy surgery to remove floaters in my right eye. My floater problem has been going on for many years. I got YAG laser procedures several times before the surgery to fix the problem, but the problem kept coming back after a while.
I’ve been holding off for almost a year until I finally bite the bullet and decide to get the surgery. In the meantime every time I ask any questions regarding the surgery and all the side-effects by e-mail, he was kind enough to answer all my questions in great details and timely manner. That’s another reason why I decide to go for Dr. Sebag after intensive research about the procedure and the ophthalmologists specializing in vitrectomy for floaters in greater LA area. He’s caring, responsive and detail oriented. He even responded to my e-mail regarding concerns about bleeding immediately late at night on the surgery date. Another doctor (his colleague doctor) also responded to my question over the phone immediately. It turned out to be normal and okay after all. The surgery will be over before you know it because you get twilight anesthesia. I didn’t have any pain after the surgery. You don’t need any pain killer. To be honest with you, your eye will look miserable after the surgery. But don’t be alarmed. Blood in your eye will start to disappear noticeably in two weeks and will completely disappear in four week in my case. You can actually see clearly on next day after the surgery. You might still feel a little uncomfortable and fatigue in your eye after the surgery. Ice packs do help minimize swelling. You have to be very careful after the surgery. No exercise and always protect your eye as you’re instructed. I gave up all my favorite sports after the surgery for a while because I had to protect my eye and prevent any elevated eye pressure.
Staffs are kind and friendly in general.
If you want to take care of your floater problem once for all, you won’t be disappointed with Dr. Sebag. But don’t just take my own word for it. Do your own research and educate yourself before the surgery on your own. He published a lot of research papers about vitrectomy and floaters. Dr. Sebag will also educate you and explain everything up front before the surgery. No surprises after the surgery.
I am very happy with results overall. It did improve quality of my life because I can see everything much more clearly now.
