Woke up on Christmas Day morning with a curtain in my right eye. Went to the local ER to find out I had issues with both retinas. It ended up being a blessing that the only doctor willing to see me that very day was several hours away in Marc Comaratta. Marc was the consummate professional in addressing and repairing my retinal issues. During surgery I woke up (which is very normal) and was comforted by how passionate he was about his surgical skills... it was obvious he was 'in his comfort zone' performing his craft. This was all conveyed to me by how he spoke to his surgical assistants during the process. I read where others say he is arrogant (and I don't believe this is the case) but maybe the disconnect here is he radiates confidence in his skills and likely takes satisfaction in his work. Regardless he doesn't need to be my best friend while I'm in his office which I feel some of these other comments are seeking. He's professional and DOING HIS JOB and doing it well. Bottom line is I trust him and I also place my vision for the future in his most capable hands.

I had a great experience with Dr.Xu she was amazing and her hospitality was great too.

Dr. Edmonds is extremely skilled at his work. I feel secure in his efforts to help me with my vision problems!! I highly recommend Dr. Edmonds as a coronary specialist and his general eye care.

the staff was professional and courteous, my appointment was fast but done to above my expectations. all in all, an exemplary experience. I would recommend, if you live in the West Hartford, CT area and need an eye exam or glasses, to check them out.

First Rate Eye Care is truly the best. From an incredible staff, to State of the art equipment, Dr. Miller and staff are top notch. Dr. Miller is thorough, and explains everything in a way I have never experienced before. The office ladies are always so kind and so nice. I cannot say enough about how much I like, and appreciate First Rate Eye Care.

I would love to recognize the ladies working today! I wish I had got their names. I went in and there was an issue with my insurance. My new insurance was not in effect until January. However, I knew I had insurance prior. I didn’t have my card as my purse was stolen a month ago with my insurance cards in there. But, the ladies were gracious enough to look me up. All I knew was the old insurance name I had. They tried a few times and I didn’t come up. They asked me to come back in January. I received a call a minute later telling me they found me! They were so helpful! I was so happy they found me and grateful they took the time to search. The Doctor was very personable and answered my questions. The whole experience was so great! So great in fact that it didn’t hurt one bit purchasing my new frames even though they cost a pretty penny! Had everyone not been great I think I would’ve bought glasses I didn’t like. Thank you!

I have been a customer of For Eyes for many, many years and have been to several of their locations. I visited the Duluth location for the first time on 7/24/23 and was pleasantly surprised at the absolutely wonderful customer service by Scott. His knowledge, professionalism, patience and kindness was better than any salesperson at any of the other locations. I had purchased my glasses at another location and had taken them back three times because of their discomfort, before I decided to go to the Duluth location. Scott explained that my frame was not the appropriate size/fit for my facial structure and that is why them were so uncomfortable. I am so glad that I drove the extra miles. Thanks so much For Eyes and Scott!!!

Glad I looked at the subject of the reviews of this doctor instead of going off of the numbers of stars. I saw that the negative reviews were about insurance and wait times. We did experience a wait BUT this wait was due to having to do the dilation and wait 45 minutes for it to take full effect. We found Dr Calderwood to be very caring, knowledgeable and conservative in her approach. Visit was not rushed nor were any of our questions not answered fully. The bad thing about Google reviews is any medical practice cannot fully respond due to privacy issues so I’m glad we took the reviews and did our own research and saw Dr Calderwood. Her staff was pleasant and was comforting. We will be back and will encourage anyone needing a specialized eye care to do that same. To the ones saying they will go to Nahsville, I would reconsider as the doctor there was deadset on surgery to which no other doctor has agreed. It’s all about perspective I guess but I can say we were treated with kindness and respect with each person we came in contact with there.

Dr. Johnson and the entire Eye Concepts staff are amazing. I was recently there for my own eye checkup, as well as my son's, and they were friendly and helpful from the moment we walked in. The receptionist was very nice, and they are always easy to schedule with. They answered all of my questions with a smile, and were very accommodating to my child who has sensory issues. Dr. Johnson was so patient while doing his exam, and even made it fun by playing a movie and doing silly things while checking his eyes. Jared was great while helping my son pick out glasses. Everyone really seemed to care about us, and made us feel very comfortable. I would highly recommend this office!
