I couldn't be happier with my vision after getting refractive eye surgery (PRK) from Shumes Vision. Neil and Kathryn were extremely knowledgeable and thorough before, during and after the laser eye surgery. The care I received is more than 5 stars.

Great place to get the latest specs and exam. They take VSP is you're a CA State employee. Friendly staff and Dr. Courtney Louie is the best! Thanks for great sevice.

This OD messed up my eye glass prescription and will not fix it. Its not even the right RX. After asking if he would correct it he became very rude and billed my insurance without correcting it. I' am Reporting him asap.

I have always used Dr. Salierno since I moved up to CT about 12 years ago and have never ever had one bad experience. Until today. In April of this year, I went in for my usual bi-annual exam to renew my prescription for contacts. He gave me the new prescription back then. Today, I went to call my normal contact supplier (since going through their office is ridiculously expensive) and they asked me for the updated prescription. I called Dr. Salierno's office....and they proceeded to tell me that I did NOT have a prescription for contacts, only glasses. Only problem with that is that I don't wear glasses - only contacts. I told them to check again because I was literally just there a few months ago - but they have no record of any contact prescription. So now I cannot order new contacts - and NOW I need to go back for a new appointment - one that is no longer covered by my insurance since I already went back in April for something that should have been done back then. This is absolutely insane and ridiculous - and the staff at the office will NOT LIFT A FINGER to do anything about it. Horrible horrible horrible horrible. If I could give less than 1 star, I would.

Nastiest office staff and dr makes inappropriate comments such as telling my mother “looks like you didn’t build her right” do not recommend I’d give a negative star if I could

Stay as far away from this eye doctor practice as you can! They do not have a clue what they are doing in regards to diagnosis issues. They constantly mess up your billing and send you other peoples bills. I had to have my insurance company intervene to actually get a correct bill. When you call they do not answer the phone, you go to voicemail and nobody ever calls you back. I would recommend finding another practice.

The Walmart Vision Center was a new in-network provider for materials with my new vision insurance. I decided to give them a try, and they did not disappoint! It was a hurdle to get the most of my benefits I pay for through insurance though, all however were NOT a Vision Center issue. I called the insurance and confirmed my benefits before arriving at the store. The manager, Kris, called to verify eligibility and benefits and was told something different than I was previously told. I brought a print out of my vision benefits with me and he understood and wanted to make sure I was getting my benefits used correctly. Another employee, Kyle, took my many phone calls and always was so respectful and patient. He tried to contact my insurance company too, and couldn’t even speak to a representative. Needless to say, this new insurance is a PAIN, but the Vision Center was so great to work with. I went there on a Wednesday, then Thursday, and by Saturday, things were figured out. Not without the help and patience of Kris, Kyle, and Ericka. Kyle was the one I settled up with and he was informative, professional, and knowledgeable. Do not hesitate to try Independence, Kansas Walmart Vision Center!!

Dr. Platt was very professional and reacted quickly to a new problem that had developed. He was patient and detailed in his responses to our questions. We appreciated his commitment to doing what was best for his patient immediately. Thank you.

Dr. Bowers fit me in his busy schedule as a new patient the same day I called to take care of my eye. I have received excellent care.

Originally, I had five stars. Now the billing department is trying to rob me BLIND! The surgery process is great. Unfortunately I had to remove that review to replace it with this one. I’m personally sick and tired of getting notices from the third party billing claiming I owe another hundred dollar deductible. This will drive people away no matter how good your surgery is. I’ve had to call these people twice. Now this morning December 20 I get another notice that claims I owe $100 co-pay. I am waiting to hear back from one of the management personnel on this matter. I want it resolved today and it had better be resolved today! I sit here and wonder if this is some type of scam to abuse the elderly who would just go ahead and pay this without questioning it. You would think after the phone calls the problem would be resolved however, it’s not. Therefore I consider this nothing more than a scam from a third-party billing company to take advantage of our elderly shame the Eye Guys for allowing this to happen with a company they are paying good money to handle their billing. Finally I have a voice message from Brook dated Feb 2, 2023 which states that I do not owe them any money they are still waiting to hear from the insurance on the surgery. I received yet another bill Monday March 13 stating that I owe them $100 co pay. Which has already been paid back on November 7 period. Today on the phone Brook States that that bill was not titled correctly and that I will receive another one that is corrected. I supposedly oh something around $100 for service on my first visit. However, she states this is nothing to do with the surgery. Go back to the voice recording that says I don’t owe anything they are waiting for the insurance to pay for the surgery.
