I've been going to Optix Eyecare and seeing Dr. Newman now for roughly 10 years. It's always a great experience. He's very thorough and professional and appears to be using the latest in technology. When I was trying out contacts several years ago, he gave me a couple of different pair to try just to see if they worked for me (including bifocal contacts). The front office staff are friendly and helpful as well. And April, who handles everything related to the ordering of frames and lenses (including addressing any issues) is really easy to work with. She has a very broad knowledge of lenses and lens manufacturers, which comes in handy when trying to make a decision on the different treatments that are available for lenses (e.g. anti-glare coating, transition lenses, etc.) She's also very knowledgeable about insurance plans. They take VSP if you're lucky enough to have that insurance plan. You can't go wrong having your eyes taken care of by Dr. Newman and his staff.

HORROBLE CARE!!!! My wife woke up with blurred vision in one eye and feeling of foreign object. Dr. Vogul took one look at it and MISDIAGNOSED her with CONJUNCTIVITIS(pink eye)! Her eye was NEVER pink. We have MEDICAID so I’m sure it’s a MONEY issue! He’s just pumping her full of USELESS MEDS!!! If you care about your health go to a PROFESSIONAL! These US doctors have no GOD! Shame on you guys!

Brought my mom here for consult and back for surgery. Overall very impressed with each and everyone of the staffs. Very professional, caring and very thorough. Their nurse called a a couple of times, few days apart prior to surgery to make sure we had all the medication needed, post op call also. I definitely recommend this facility to anyone who needs eye care for yourself or love ones.

Avoid that doctor at all cost! He was extremely rude and unhelpful. He failed to properly explain my condition or treatment options, he was in so rush leaving me feeling scared and confused saying he didn't know what my treatment required or if I was going to be able to see again, when he knew all that fear was unnecessary, because my current optometrist is treating me and never considered my condition as Dr. Silvester did. When my husband started asking questions, the doctor suddenly became more polite and attentive, demonstrating clear favoritism. His behavior showed a clear bias against women and a lack of respect for me as the patient. Overall, he was a terrible doctor who couldn't even give a proper explanation for referring me to another specialist. I would never recommend him to anyone I care about. And the office is not able to manage apoitments correctly, they schedule fake appointment to have an excuses to charge your insurance for not showing, when you didn't know about it in the first place. In general this is a money business not about patien care at all!!

If I could rate zero stars I would. I will start by saying they utterly overbook clientele. Our appointment scheduled for 1pm, checked in, sat in the lobby area for 48 minutes until called back(148pm). Might I add there were already at least 10 to 15 other patrons waiting ahead of me. Then sat in another waiting area in the back without being seen, tested for an exam or anything for another 45min. By the time we mentoined the wait time and frustration to staff without being seen or tested it was approx 3pm. Staff then tried to expedite testing and consultation as we threatened to leave and the doctor spent (maybe) 4 total minutes in the room to inform that was not a candidate for the surgery. During the entirety of the 2 hrs here, we witnessed staff repeatedly told patrons "we'll call you back shortly, be with you in a minute or we're running about right on schedule " all of which were clearly were lies. There are too many people waiting in multiple waiting rooms to see providers and not receiving prompt services. Staff seem to wander around aimlessly with no purpose, making jokes, lolly gagging as patients wait in disgust. After driving from out of state for this consultation, I feel it was not worth our time or energy. Search out another provider/group who values your business.

I’m appalled by the behavior of the two women who are checking in patients for surgery. A very elderly couple asked for copies of documents they’d just signed and the nasty, gruff-talking women argued with the man that he couldn’t have copies until many days have past. Even if that were true, the women that “ganged up” on him and his wife should treat the patients with patience, kindness and respect (and calmly call a supervisor to help gently explain) instead of handling them in a brash, nasty manner, and in front of other patients. Shameful. The harsh women need training on kindness, patience, and respect. I hope the director of this facility reads this and takes action to improve the patient experience. Surgery is a time of great anxiety and uncertainty; therefore, patients should be treated with extra kind care. Caveat: The same women should kindly ASK accompanying family and sit in the waiting room instead of bark out commands. Witnessed that behavior at least thrice.
Every Review metters. See what people say about clinics.
