Wouldn’t trust my eyes with any other practice.

This is a very long time ago, and I believe he was a young surgeon. But this is my story. Sorry if dates are not really exact, but around 1986 (I think right around Labor Day Weekend), while I was living in the Boston area, I went for an eye exam late on that Friday afternoon. My ophthalmologist asked me if I had any plans for the weekend. I said I did. He replied that I needed to change them and that he wanted me at Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston the next morning for surgery. At the hospital, I was greeted by two surgeons, Drs, Ryan and Kieval. I had apparently familial (possibly genetic) pinholes through my retinas on both eyes, which were in the process of detaching, leading to blindness perhaps within 6 months or so (very scary for me). Dr. Kieval did some medical things (I didn't even take biology in high school, as I don't have much stomach for medical details. So I told him I didn't want to know the details, just that he knew what he was doing). He said he did, and the surgery was performed. By the way, I was disqualified from further service in the U.S. Naval Reserve (after 10 years active duty and reserves) simply because I had eye surgery - which in the eyes of the Navy was a disqualifier. This was around 30 years ago. I have had checkups from ophthalmologists over the years. And in every case they say the eye was completely healed. One of them even said he thought some material from college had your name in it. Anyway, my eyes are still working great. A little late, as the internet hadn't really been invented at the time of the surgery. Thanks for a job well done.

This doctor was extremely rude. She walked out of my exam 3 times and didn’t even excuse herself from the room or apologize when she came back. She had issues with her staff and one of the times she came back to the room she was mumbling to her self and said seriously. She didn’t review how my eyes were doing or changes in prescription. Very unprofessional! When I was given my prescription at the front desk, I asked where I can complain about the doctor, they said, “please do.” They mentioned they had one employee walk out on her already and they were next. I think all your staff leaving speaks volumes about this provider.

I wish I could give no Stars for the inconvenience I experienced today. If your not providing Medicaid glasses any more fine but do not send Medicaid recipients to the wrong location. Instruct your staff to inform people correctly. That was highly unacceptable and I want better service for myself and anyone out there that has Medicaid.

I visited Optometry at Redwood Shores for an eye exam, and had an excellent experience with Dr. Nguyen and the staff despite an initial scheduling mishap. They were incredibly accommodating, welcoming, and efficient, and made everything easy to understand. Would absolutely recommend visiting for any optometry needs!

Dr. Crapanzano and his staff are the best. Thorough eye exams and continuing to stay abreast of new treatments. Office is knowledgeable on health insurance. Dr. Crapanzano was able to diagnose,treat and cure an ongoing problem with my eyes on my first visit. That was 10+ years. Doc also diagnosed a problem with my husband's eyes. This problem was missed by other specialist even the surgeon. 5 🌟 in my eyes.
