They are a little bit expensive, but every exam and every pair of glasses have been perfect. I get a thorough informative exam and then get to enjoy picking out my new glasses. The staff is so great with caring for patients and helping … More

Avoid. Evasive sales tactics and outright rudeness.
Called on May 9, 2026 at 3:30 -4:00 PM with a simple, prescription-independent question: does the $20 copay under my EyeMed/Anthem plan include an Essilor-brand lens with no upgrade fee — yes or no?
What I got instead:
The staff member mocked me, saying I "sounded like a robot".
She hung up on me mid-conversation multiple times.
She falsely claimed it was "illegal" to quote anything without a prescription. This is flatly untrue. The FTC Eyeglass Rule (16 C.F.R. Part 456) governs prescription release — it requires prescribers to give patients a free copy of their prescription so they can comparison shop. There is no law anywhere that prohibits an optical shop from disclosing what brand of lens is included at a copay tier. Refusing to disclose pricing information before an exam — and citing fake "legal" reasons to do so — runs directly contrary to the pro-competition spirit of federal consumer protection law.
She refused to answer the question at all, and instead repeatedly pushed a 20% "upgrade" discount — making the motive transparent: hide what the base tier covers, then upsell.
When I narrowed it down further — "any Essilor product, CR-39 material" — she said she'd go check. I waited on hold for 13 minutes. She came back, said "hello?" and hung up within one second. I called back. She refused to pick up.
A boutique that won't tell an insured customer what brand of lens their copay actually buys — before an exam, before any commitment — is not a boutique I trust with my prescription, my insurance, or my money. Consumers using vision benefits have a right to know what they're paying for. Hiding it behind fake "legal" excuses, personal insults, and a literal hang-up is disqualifying.

There is a Dr Wong that works with Dr. Capistrano. He does not care about what you say, only what he wants to talk about. He doesn't seem to care about patients. He is very clinical and not friendly. Dr. Capistrano is so much more kind and actually listens to her patients. Your visits will always be about 2 hours long, since the office is way overbooked and they have too many patients. But that also speaks volumes about how good Dr. C is at her job.

Dr. Awner was extremely knowledgeable, patient and took his time explaining everything. It was definitely a wait but after waiting almost a year to see him, I wasn’t leaving!

First let me say Dr. Bold is amazing. He was kind and informative and really caters to young children. I would give him five stars and Recommend him to everyone.
However his staff is unprofessional and smug to say it kindly. After reading reviews I’m clearly not the only one that has felt this way. Even my 7 year old noticed that they were not particularly nice.
Also, if you ever plan to buy glasses somewhere else don’t go here, they will refuse to give you your PD preventing you from ordering anywhere else. Again, as a mom of a 7 year old I prefer to have one nice pair (which I bought from them) but I also wanted to buy some cheaper pairs for activities they might get broken. I asked many times and the staff refused.
Finally told me “I could do it myself”

Wow! I have been wearing glasses since the first grade(32 now), so needless to say I have been to many an eye exam. Dr. Perkins is by far and away the most knowledgeable and professional optometrist I have ever seen. He brought new insights into eyecare and overall health in a funny and approachable way. His office is clean and very organized. The appointment was supposed to be just for me, but now I will be sending my whole family here. What a great experience, from an exceptional doctor. Added bonus is his office takes Tricare!! If there was a downside, it would be that he was almost too efficient. I could have spent a couple hours talking to Dr. Perkins!

1st North Coast Eye Care in North Ridgeville is great! Dr. Yoder is very fun, informative, kind and listens. When you go in for an eye exam with her, you aren't just getting an eye exam. You are getting someone who cares and wants to know how life is going. They have a great selection of frames, staff is friendly and willing to help you in any way possible. Get ready for a laugh and a very nice experience!

Sarah was so patient with me and gave great customer service. Dr Shoemaker explained in detail about medical terms associated with a previous eye surgery. I would definitely recommend Community Eye Care of Indianapolis for all your eye care needs.

Customer service is always amazing at this location. I have been going here for five years! Lauren has assisted me on several occasions and has gone out of her way to make sure that my glasses were a perfect fit….( Even when I just stopped in to have the glasses re aligned.)
Not to mention they have great sales during the year.
