For
Eye Q Optical
Our family just started seeing Dr. Karen Cash at Eye Q Optical and we are extremely impressed with her expertise and kindness. Dr. Cash significantly improved both my husband's and my vision, helping us see better then we have in years. Extra thanks to her support staff Paula and Bill for their professionalism, knowledge and all-out helpfulness!

On October 21, 2022, I walked into Eyes of Wellington for the purpose of buying lenses for my Oakley sunglass frames, as well as clear lenses for my regular Oakley prescription frames. I also wanted to be fitted for contact lenses. As a first step, Dr. Eisenberg performed an eye exam. Afterwards, Sean, their employee, tested my pupil distance and the area of range for which to start the progressive portion or the readers. At the end of that visit, I paid $1,455.00 in full for lenses for my Oakley sunglass frames, regular Oakley prescription frames and for the eye exam.
A couple of weeks later, the lenses came in. When I came into the store to try them on, I could immediately tell that they were not made properly. It was not my correct prescription. I could see decently in the distance but everything midrange (10-15 feet away) was totally blurry. I told Sean, who checked my measurements again, and he said they would get them right the next time. Unfortunately, when the corrected lenses arrived a couple weeks later, they were also not made properly. By this time, I became concerned that the prescription was incorrect, but Sean insisted that Dr. Eisenberg always made correct prescriptions. Nonetheless, I contacted the owner Ms. Ginger Popper.
At first, it seemed like Ms. Popper was going to work with me to make this right. She told me that her employee Sean wasn’t a strong performer, and that he often became flustered when he felt pressured. I put no pressure on him at all. Instead, I just requested that my lenses be made correctly. Ms. Popper then asked Dr. Eisenberg to recheck my eyes, and he made a slight adjustment to my prescription as a result of the second eye exam. She requested that my lenses be remade (now for the third time) and she called me a couple weeks later when they came in. I went back to Eyes of Wellington and tried the glasses on. I was very disappointed that the lenses were still incorrect, as they did not have my correct prescription.
At this point Ms. Popper told me that she believed that ultimately the lenses were not correct because, “They were made at Oakley – who, in her opinion, make really great sunglass lenses but didn’t do a great job with normal eyewear lenses – like her other labs.” I asked Ms. Popper why she didn’t ask her other lab to make my lenses. She responded, “You told Sean that the lenses absolutely MUST be made at Oakley.” Nothing could be further from the truth. I never even made mention of Oakley except to state that the sunglass and regular eyeglass frames were both Oakley frames. I would not presume to tell companies how to run their business. It quickly became clear to me at that point that she was attempting to establish a narrative to fit what she was about to tell me next – which was, “We can’t have any more lenses made for you unless you pay for it again.”
I asked for a full refund instead, as I had not received either correct sunglass lenses or regular eyeglass lenses. She refused, even though clearly my prescription was wrong. I was flabbergasted.
I left their store utterly disgusted. Why didn’t she offer to let another lab make the lenses, or at least offer me a full refund as her company had failed to deliver either set of lenses that I purchased? But she refused either option.
You simply cannot do worse!

Both visits were unsatisfactory. They lost my first prescription glasses. I was practically called a liar when I informed them that I never received any glasses at all. Then they attempted to give me someone else’s glasses. No apology . The second time a dark skinned Hispanic girl who’s young enough to be my GRANDCHILD constantly made a mockery of my age . Clearly she envied my outfit which was to die for. Her and the other girls called me names in Spanish to one another. I politely told her she looked African American jst like me but spoke Spanish jst like me. My objection to being verbally disrespected fell on death ears. Even the threat of writing this negative review and or writing to the owner and investors didn’t sway DARLENE and other receptionist at the window to refrain from trying to intimidate , bully and berate an older grandmother of 7 and great grandmother of 2. Try as I mite to walk away head held high in my heart I felt so low . I’m in no condition to defend myself physically. So when she indirectly told me to leave OR ELSE i instinctively knew what she was implying, I’m Currently seeking another Dr. oh yeah my ins stated I have no office visit CO PAY, but she also took my money. Shame on them. She conveniently forgot to give me a receipt

Went here a few years ago with a corneal abrasion. He proceeded, without asking or explaining, to do a full alcohol delamination of the epithelium. Took my eye three years to fully recover under the care of a proper opthalmologist. I'm sure he's perfectly fine w glasses, but don't let this dude directly touch your eyes.

Mixed feelings:
My first appointment, the office was very busy and they were short staffed. The initial part of my exam was executed by someone who seemed very inexperienced. That was honestly, unnerving when they are poking things near and around your eyes. It was evident when the doctor came in and said, “don’t do that - you will poke her in the eye.”
Okay, fine. I got over that. Dr. Eric was very thorough and did make me feel confident that he knew what he was doing. He took his time with me and if my review was based solely on him - I would have given more stars.
I ended up buying glasses.
When I went to go pick up my glasses, they simply handed them to me and asked me if they fit. I said, “Yes, maybe could use a slight adjustment.”
Any other eye doctor I’ve been to, would take you back and sit with you to evaluate how they fit.
Instead, someone came out the lobby and asked me to put them on and if I needed an adjustment. (Note: there are no mirrors in the lobby)
The tech adjusted them and simply handed them back to me in the lobby.
Overall, I did like Dr. Eric but his staff and the experience leaves something to be desired.
EDIT: Dr. Eric called me personally and thanked me for my feedback. That type of integrity is something worth commending. While I’m not changing my review - I do think he’s worth giving another chance :)

I've worn glasses my entire life and have always gone to the eye doctors connected to the stores. Never had an issue. I went to Berkeley today for a diabetic eye check up and was just blown away. Check in was a breeze, the staff was amazing. The sisters were great explaining what the drops were and doing the first checks on my eyes, Dr Nguyen explained everything and we talked about possible future procedures, Alexis was extremely helpful with checking out and setting up my future appointments. Everyone was nice, helpful, and friendly. I will definitely be coming back.

I’ve been going here for a few years and have never had a problem. They even helped me when it came time for cataract surgery and follow through. They treat you like a person and not just another human coming through the door

I have been a patient with Fichte for over 28 years. No matter what my problem or condition has been over the years, Dr. Fichte and Dr. Endle have taken care of my sight.
From Lasik in 1996 - This was before my insurance paid for LASIK correction after wearing glasses and contacts since Second grade in 1958. Lasik was a miracle procedure for me. Great staff and nurses, too. Very modern, up-to-date equipment.
Now with Cataract surgery in 2021 and Argon Laser in 2023, this practice and Surgeons have keep me seeing brightly and clearly at 73 years old probably beyond.
I would recommend this practice to anyone no matter how far away.
Excellent care and consideration in all matters.

I had a ocular implant that was displaced. Time was of the essence because if it became completely dislodged it was going to be much more serious. But Dr Zavodni went above and beyond. He worked hard to get surgery done that very day and they all work to get a team together so it could happen. They were all very kind and considerate explained everything to me. I felt like I was being taken care of exceptionally well. I appreciate the entire team that made it happen.
