Carin M. LaCount
Dr. Carin M. LaCount is a therapeutic licensed, glaucoma specialist who has been practicing
optometry since 1994. She is passionate about caring for her patients of all ages, but there is a
special place in her heart for school age children who are challenged with reading and learning
even if they don’t need glasses. Having had undiagnosed vision issues as a kid that impeded her
reading skills, she understands first-hand how frustrating that can be and encourages all
parents to not rely on the vision screenings done by the school or pediatrician’s office.
Dr. LaCount is originally from Wisconsin where she received her undergraduate degree in
Human Biology at the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay. She then went on to Chicago where
she received her doctorate at the Illinois College of Optometry. She has cared for patients in a
wide variety of practices including an ophthalmology clinic with numerous corneal transplant
patients, the high diabetic population of an Indian reservation, and the residents of nursing
homes. Her compassion and dedication to giving the best possible care is why patients often
specifically request an eye exam with her as she travels between offices.
