If you have a plan that offers a free set of glasses annually, I would not recommend going to this place. The front desk staff started off nice but became unwelcoming and dismissive as soon as they found out we wanted to use our plan for the free glasses. If they had been more courteous, we might have considered purchasing an extra set of glasses. Overall, our experience was quite disappointing.

I went to UofM when I was diagnosed with age related macular degeneration at 50. I received the same treatment for 8 years without any changes in medication and constant degradation. I sat in an overcrowded waiting room for 3-4 hours at a time watching prisoners being wheeled in before me. Eventually I switched to Henry Ford and discovered the extremely painful treatment was not necessary. This along with a switch to more modern medications has made a huge difference in my life. I will never recover my lost vision. But life sure is easier now. And knowing the disease has slowed is awesome.

Dr. Avallone is amazing! He is extremely patient , knowledgeable and professional. He just performed a surgery on my 7 year old who had strabismus. The results are great and the recovery is going well so far! I highly recommend Dr. Avallone.

Got there at 10:20 for 10:30 appointment, left at 11:30 with no prescription because receptionists there are terrible at their jobs. When I got there lady sent me into the wrong sitting room. The sitting room I was in was for purchasing glasses (I didn’t know at the time, I was a new patient, and new patients needed to check it at a different desk so I thought they would tell me everything I needed to know), while the one I needed to be in was down the hall. The glasses sitting area was dirty with old chairs and smelled like B.O., maybe because the place is invested with old people. Waited 20 minutes in there before saying something. The receptionists in the glasses area pointed me to the correct sitting area. Got called right away and the technician checked my vision and dilated my eyes, and I was awaiting the doctor. But they pulled me out because someone else was waiting first, and was put back into the waiting area until 20 minutes passed and my hunger levels raised and my patience ran out and so I left. If you come here, avoid first floor doctors, one of them is Dr. Amna Majeed. She’s probably good, but I don’t like her staff. As I left, waiting to confirm I didn’t need to pay anything, the receptionists were right there gossiping about how I was leaving, they could at least of waited until I left.

Don't believe the other review. It's full of crap. I've been going to their office for years (I have to get a new pair every year). I love them, they're so nice. Every time I go I never remember the rules of my insurance, and she always looks them up for me- they go the extra mile to help out. The service is quick, reliable and friendly. The receptionist is probably one of the nicest people I've ever met, and she always puts a super rush on my glasses because I need them for class- with no extra charge (that I never got with any other business). They're the best. Simple as that, and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

The Tayani institute in Brea is where I have started my Journey. I needed cataract surgery very bad I was completely blind in my right eye . I went in for my first appointment which there was not a long wait to get the appointment or to get into the office for the exam. Once I had my exam and the recommendation was given to me and I was treated very well. I understood everything that needed to be done. I was also directed to other doctors for check ups on things they could not secure at this office to make sure it would be safe. I went down to San Clemente surgical center for my surgery everything was so good the doctors were all nice and patient with all my questions. I will be going here from now on for any eyecare. I would recommend this place to anybody that needs anything done with their eyes. It is a fantastic place.

Have shared my thoughts on my experience with Dr. Swan. The procedure was good. Woke up seeing much clearer! Suggest that when you're down one doc, you would have let me know. Easier to wait when you know what's going on...
