I have had an extremely positive and successful experience with everyone in this practice . Each individual was patient,respectful,courteous, and professional. They have an organized approach to cataract surgery making it work seamlessly from start to finish. Dr.Johar is a brilliant surgeon with a reassuring demeanor and calming manner. I’m very thankful to everyone for restoring my vision, and for making the entire process pleasant. I will not hesitate to recommend them to family and friends!!!

Pushy people trying to get me to PAY for an additional test not covered by Medicare and required me to sign a waiver for not agreeing to it. They also charge over a thousand dollars an eye to use a laser for surgery, and were pushy trying to convince me to go for the laser. I instead went to Yale Ophthalmology in Stratford where I was treated with respect, was never pushed to opt for additional out-of-pocket costs, and had a top-of-the line Yale surgeon perform my cataract surgery, and was seeing perfectly clear out of the eye on the way home from the hospital, and every penny of the bill covered by Medicare.

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Johar. I went to her for cataract surgery and I was very nervous and frightened. Dr. Johar has a calming, reassuring manner. She explained everything she was going to do and gave me peace of mind. The office has a serene energy and the staff members reflect that. I would recommend this practice without reservation!

I’ve been w. Dr. Trocchi almost 20+yrs !! minus 5yrs when I moved to NYC ! He has always been very kind , & especially patient w. Me bc I’m a “super blinker pop” during my exams!! Today I found out that he’s actually a superhero !! My son had a terrible eye irritation, for almost 48 hrs. I called Dr.Trocchi & the ans.machine says Wednesday he’s CLOSED! but there’s an Emergency # for E.R. Dr. Trocchi says but he’s never been here he’s not my patient!!, followed by…what kind of work does he do? Construction, of course! Dr. T asked us, to meet at his CLOSED office in an hour, bc he wasn’t anywhere near his office! , Dr. T magnified the speck., I actually saw it embedded …WOW smaller than a dust particle but felt like a knife !! I called Family/friends to BRAG BIG about my eye Dr. opening his practice pj for MY non-patient SON & eliminate the stabbing pain in his eye !! I promise u, U will never get this kind of door

Love this doctor I flew one time 5 hrs to see him.

Was always very nice to me, but somehow missed that both of my retinas had detached. I didn’t realize until I had started to lose vision in my left eye. I didn’t have any symptoms beforehand so he never checked, but every doctor I’ve visited since has told me they would have been checking proactively given my prescription at the time.

Had a great experience here. Optometrist was kind, efficient and caring. Didn't feel rushed. The ladies helped me choose reasonably priced frames. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Wanted to go back to a "Mom and Pop" type of Eyecare after using a chain for the past few years. New Insight Family Eyecare in Waterbury didn't disappoint! Also love the Southbury location! Thank you!!!

I’m a new patient to this office this year. Every phone call made or visit, everyone has been super accommodating, attentive and caring. Dr Villacis has always been phenomenal, professional and knowledgeable. Highly recommend and I am glad to have found them.

I was here yesterday as a new client. The place is very upscale and the staff was knowledgeable and professional. The eye doctor was superb,friendly and took time to explain everything thoroughly. He answered all my questions and never made me feel rushed or like he was too busy for questions ( like some eye doctors I've been too) Anybody looking for a great eye doctor where you can get either glasses or contacts should really try this place. They accept most insurances and deliver top notch service from start to finish!! I give them 5 stars 🤩

Dr.Brian Wolanin is the best! so professional, down to earth, and doesn't waste your time. i was in and out and he also was very good with my two year old who was with me. he is very easy to talk to. he truly cares about his patients and their eye health. the office staff was phenomenal as well! the person who brought me in to do the eye tests on the machines was so nice and caring and explained each machine thoroughly.
